I'd love to hear more about your experience. Shipping costs? Licensing, logistics etc? After looking up track car rental costs there, I've always wondered if it was cheaper to send my own car over and back instead.

The whole process was painful, but now I can finally say, worth it.

If visiting, you can drive on your US tags, but you have to get insurance that provides European coverage and comprehensive. The comprehensive piece is hard to come by.

When it arrives, you’ll have to get it safety checked by TUV. Note- they don’t take kindly to mods...

more info here: https://www.howtogermany.com/pages/import-car.html

You can rent cars at the ring ranging in prices from as low as $35 per lap. But there really isn’t anything better than driving your own true love.

Hey Danny, I couldn’t believe how easy it was to get official custom plates - ordered them online and they were delivered in 2 days!

how many laps you ask? I going through people’s recycling to collect bottles to return for deposit so I can scrape together enough to for a season card - unlimited laps for touristenfahrten days.

So your Turbo was back in the states and you shipped it over to Germany to have with you going forward (i.e you're not sending the car back anytime soon?)

Man, super jealous. Did you have a pro coach or is that a friend? I rented from one of the places there and getting the pro sitting next to me was worth every penny. We used to live up by Sonnenberg in Wiesbaden and miss it every day.
