First time owner 2001 Red Turbo 6spd
Hi all, just wanted to share my new car. It is a 2001 996TT with a 2001-03-01 production date. 01 wasn't my first pick but ext. color and heated seats brought me here. It does have hollow spoke wheels I assume from it being a later production month.
29K miles 1 owner lady driven, got it from a dealer in Florida and had it shipped to Ga.
Due to the weather and a little bout with a virus I've only had it out a few times. Looking forward to spring and getting to know it better. So far I love the sporty drive and how low the car is. The digital speedometer is off by quite a bit and there is some foam flying out of the vents but it is 19 years old so I guess that is to be expected. Will hold 4 cassette tapes, 5 if you count the one in the stereo
I had bought a Tesla M3P in 2019 hoping to have performance and daily use combined but it gave me motion sickness and I really like a sunroof.
I also looked at gen 2 R/T vipers as they look like a lot of fun and are reliable and reasonably priced but I was concerned about the side exhaust heat and WAF.
As you can see from the picture the WAF is low anyways lol.
My teen loves it though

Nice intro and congrats on the car, it's very good looking. You'll love the car. Electric vehicle motion sickness is a real thing. I test drove a Turbo S Taycan with my buddy who a Porsche salesman, and we found an empty road, stopped the car, hit launch control, the brake and gas, waited for the ding and I let off the brake. It felt like we got to 100 immediately. About an hour later, I felt nauseous for about 2 days--I hadn't experienced those forces ever.

Thank you all for the warm welcome!
I’ve been enjoying reading up on these cars and everyone else’s projects.
I did leave the wing up for a few days and then thought I should read up on if that can cause issues since they fail anyways and sure enough it is not recommended so I immediately climbed up and lowered it. The hydraulics were repaired just prior to me buying it so hopefully I didn’t stress them too badly.
The taycan sounds awesome. I guess the break from acceleration between shifts helps?

Nice! Indeed. I would like to catch a cars and coffee here soon. Looking forward to seeing you around.
I did a DE at road atlanta with the pca a handful of years ago and everyone was very nice. I’ll have to find the picture of my kid with the same smile in a gt3 rs driver seat. The owner encouraged him to hop into and check it out when he saw him admiring it.
