I would tend to agree with that; a buddy in high school had a 350 swapped into a 240z, and although it was highly entertaining to drive, he seemed to be plagued with drive train alignment problems (kept burning out the throw out bearing for some reason), body flex due to the increased torque and some interesting high speed behaviours that in hindsight, would probably deter me from driving that car today.

But, it sure was fun and it ate tyres at pretty much any speed and in any gear (it was a 4 speed).

Low miles and desirable color but very low option, aftermarket stereo are going to hurt the price. I'm guessing I'm not the only one that thinks that if a seller takes all pictures of a 996tt with the rear spoiler up in every picture that the hydraulic have gone bad and haven't been rectified and then start to assume there is more deferred maintenance.

Why would an aftermarket stereo hurt? The old Beckers are terrible.

Not stock, and the aftermarkets don't really look period-correct on 20-year-old cars. Head unit changeout is one thing, but there's often been other work done that's of uneven or even questionable quality.

I sold my pristine low mileage E92 M3 to make room for the '99 LS3. When I picked it up last year (the '99 LS3) I told my wife that this car will never be "done," as having owned the showroom M3, I really was afraid of ruining it. The '99 LS3 was purchased as a "Zero Fs" car, subject to continuous modification. The '02turbo LS7 was a car on BaT I happened to look at as it was pretty close and found nobody was bidding anywhere close to what I thought the value was.

Aftermarket looks out of place in the 996 interior. If someone is buying a stock, low mileage car they most likely want the original radio. For a high mileage driver it's probably less important. For me the PCCM+ would be an acceptable replacement.

That was a popular motor swap back in the day, 2300lb car, with metal that had the strength of a Bud beer can.

Thinking of selling my 996tt. Whats the price range on a 2003 X50 black grey interior 72K miles Garage kept. Good condition. Not using much anymore as I have it at my 2nd home 90 miles away. Might be selling home soon and only room for the 964 at the new place. Im near Orlando. Only real mod is wing and electric wing motors. I drive at least every couple of weeks or so. Will need newer tires. Past date code but good tread. Have original twist wheels and rear wing.

Somewhere between $70k-$85k condition dependent?
