996 Turbo Market

996 Turbo Market
I am in the market for a 996 Turbo but I am having a problem discerning the actual market price. I know what people are asking for them but what is the actual market value? 6-speed coupe... high or low miles is fine as long as the price is right... I just don't know what those prices are. Excellence buyers guide prices are no where near the current asking prices online.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks

Here are two actual market price based data sites. Bring a Trailer prices are considered slightly higher than a private sale.

FWIW, I've an '04 '6TT Cab 6 speed around 38K miles, I've owned nearly 12 years, very near mint, no paintwork, no dings, fixed rear wing , everything works. Basalt black, black top with natural brown interior. I told a business neighbor that I may sell for around $60K. He wants me to firm up and I'm reluctant. Sales rep at P dealer here says they will give me 60K outright.
Hopes this will give you an idea. When I see a new Turbo Cab on the floor for $250k+, it makes me feel my car is worth more than $60K.

Your Cab is worth at least $70k, probably $75k.
I just bought an "unknown" history 996tt on BAT for $64k, including fees. It had 49k miles, no records, and needs some attention. I'll put another $10k into it this year getting it to where I want it to be.
Even so.... it appears to be an excellent car that will appreciate in value, and I'm not scared to put miles on it.
OP: Find one you can live with, and pay the piper. It'll all be fine in the end.

Simple enough question, but a difficult one to answer. The 996 Turbo has been and is still undervalued. I am seeing a sellers market and prices are rising rapidly.
Provenance, rarity, mileage, condition, ownership, colour, upgrades and modifications affect the values a lot.
Buy the best car available considering these parameters whilst staying within your budget.
Have contingency funds available to take care of any needs the car may require.
They all require money even though they are very reliable, quite easy to maintain and repair yourself. Parts are widely available and costs to own a 996 Turbo are low to other comparative cars. Pretty tough to compare this too much else from this era. Not sure it exists.
It seems no matter what level of Turbo you decide on, the value will rise over time and cost of ownership will be negligent.
Find the best car you can within your parameters.
You will then know what the cost will be.
Good luck with the hunt and process. I believe this is huge part of the fun of owning one of these amazing works of art.

The best day to buy a Porsche is yesterday. The 2nd best day is today.

They go for less than coupes, if he is getting that demand at $60k from the dealer, then he would be good to sell to his neighbor at $67k. He tells him $70k, he'll walk

You can easily see the BaT numbers (fees and potential transport fees associated with many of those). This is probably the easiest dataset to mine but is also probably the top of the market values. To keep a level head, I have been valuing my car at 10-12% < BaT; and my TT coupe would be considered very good to excellent condition with "lower" (sub 50k) mileage.
Next you can hit the regular "value my car" websites...they are an indicator. I found CarGurus to return the highest number for whatever that is worth. I hit 3-4 of them and average the numbers.
Additionally, last time I was at the dealer they offered me $55k cash for my car. This, in my mind, means my car must be worth at least (on their lot) 10k more.
You'll find no shortage of opinions but the values are up with some being way up!

It is very unlikely the prices will ever trend downward again to any appreciable extent. If you want one at today's prices, you ought to buy one today.
