What's next for those with 996tt's

Back in '13 I made the mistake of parting with a mint '86 930 that I pampered for 20+ years. Told myself to get another turbo and the 996tt came to live with me. I really love the car and have no plans to replace even though any GT-3 does get to me.

Maybe an AMG SL? But no manual option. No Ferrari because the never really appealed to me.
DeTomaso Pantera hell yes. But they are way more expensive than the 996tt. The 997 looks fat to me. But guess I could get used to it.
Already have a 930. Maybe a seriously built 400bhp 951? That would surely be a lot of fun.
Lambos are not my style nor are Astons.
Guess I should really consider the Cayman.

There is a reason why the prices are what they are. They are very rewarding to drive, easy to live with, relatively cheap to maintain and upgrade.
After watching Hoovies today I'm thinking of a properly sorted 928S4 again. Had a few but sold them when money got tight. Funny when Lehman Shock happened I put both 930 and 928 up for sale. The 928 sold first!!

The Porsche value ship sailed for me over the past year so I added a 2014 Shelby GT500 in January. I daily drive a 99 c2 and have a 03 TTx50 in the stable.
The 99 is most fun to drive every day. It’s just easy to throw around.
The turbo is the highway and road trip car of choice.
The Shelby IMO offers the best value for late model muscle (if ur into that). The 13’s and 14’s are special years. The Trinity 5.8L was only made 2yrs. 202mph 3.5s 0-60. Last of the 6sp manual gt500’s. Lots of factory supercar features like carbon fiber driveshaft, trans cooler, even a differential cooler. It’s not a track car by any means. But, for me, the add checks a box not offered by the other two.
I strongly considered a C6 Z06 or a ZR1 - both offer a ton of value IMO. But, remembered owning a Vette once before….the driving position gets real old after 30 minutes. No so with a 911 or Mustang.

Well, I suppose I could potentially give up one of the 996 Turbos...
Cars I'd potentially like to own and see if they stick:

Cars I'd potentially like to own and see if they stick:
.
- GT4RS (on the list, silly speculation, keeping hopes up)
- 991.2/992 GT3 (if prices ever return to earth... at current prices, I'll keep my modified 991 Turbo all day long)
- 992 Turbo (after inevitable depreciation sets in)
- 930 Turbo with some mods
- 911 air-cooled hotrod (not a Singer, built-not-bought)
- 458 Italia
- 430 Scuderia
- 488 Coupe
- Mac 12C/650S
- Lotus Emira

An appealing idea.

I don’t think I would sell mine as there is really nothing out there that does everything as well as the turbo does.
they can daily drive or weekend toy,
It’s just plain enough looking that it fly’s under the radar to a lot of people but enough people know what it is they respect it too.
only 2 cars I’d be interested in but would have to drive first, R 8 v10 or a lotus.

I once drove a 73-911 with a highly modified 2.8 engine. That was fun. But I'm addicted to boost. And It's cheaper and easier to get more power from a turbo motor than an NA.
