Default oil catch can crush washer - on turbos

Hey ya'll,

ordered the "washer" between the reservoir can and the turbo... and it doesn't work.

Anyone have a part number?

Thanks,

Actually I don't think that's the correct number.

According to the diagram #10 is that number; and it indeed is the crush washer for the drain on the catch can.

But it doesn't appear to be the correct washer for between the turbo and the can. So... There's part #11, which isn't on the diagram anywhere.
99970159840

This also matches the 993 turbo part number, so I believe this to be correct. I'm ordering these today.

Yup that's a mistake in the parts catalog. It's not a crush washer, it's supposed to be an O-ring part# 999-701-598-40.

He's asking about the seal between the oil drain box and the turbo. I agree the drain plug on the oil drain box uses the aluminum crush washer. Have extra drain plugs on hand and replace them as soon as they start to show wear on the hex.

Originally I thought he meant the drain washer. Now, I get it's the upper one. I believe Rob is saying use the crush washer either place. Makes sense.

Confirming what a few others said, an O-ring, not a crush washer, is used between the turbo and its small oil tank. The O-ring, part number 999 701 598 40, measures 18,65 X 2,45. Looks like they list for $4.98 each, but can be bought for around $2.80 or so.

The crush washer makes sense between the turbo body and the oil drain tank, but it is not tall enough to fill the gap.

Yes. And I ordered the o-rings. and now I have some additional crush washers. :-)

So... Thanks to everyone. Can't believe that really is an o-ring, but.... hey.... it's Porsche.... they do some odd things.
