Larger GT2-style clutch slave cylinder for reduced pedal effort

The slave rod that comes with the MPL is made to be used with the spring/retainer/cup/boot from a 993/964 slave. It's held into the MPL piston with an internal snap ring; I didn't try to remove it but I'm sure you could with a pick and swap to the GT2 rod and put the spring behind the piston.
I just ordered a 993 FTE slave so I could use the rod that came with the MPL slave.

Looks like I used the MPL rod. I also had to source a bleeder screw. I think I grabbed one off an Audi part I had sitting around as I believe the 996 might have been the wrong size. The 993 slave sounds for parts sounds like a great idea.

I got my 993 slave in today; highly recommend this route.
FTE part number:
This is what you get after you remove the retaining ring from the slave/boot:
Take the boot off:
You'll use everything except the piston/rod:
This steel supporting ring comes with the MPL slave. Don't forget it before you install the spring cup:
Spring cup goes next:
Spring/washer/c clip goes on:
Lastly, boot and retaining ring. I just used an extended socket to push the ring on. Did it by hand on the ground, no press needed.

So this setup did not work out for me.
The rods from the MPL and GT2 both seem the same length. The only way I could get the MPL slave to disengage the pressure plate is to remove the cup and spring then install the GT2 spring inside the cylinder.
The cup from the MPL kit pulls the rod into the slave about 10mms or so. The clutch pedal was on the floor and still not disengaging the pressure plate
Also, the hole I drilled for my GT2 conversion was too small for the boot to fit anyway.

I didn't use any 993 parts and when I bought the MPL it didn't come with any cup or boot. GT2 spring/boot/retainer in the MPL.

Interesting because my GT3 slave did not have a boot on it. Wonder if it had been changed and boot not replaced. I notice the above link does not have a boot either. Anyone know the thread for the bleeder port?
thanks

Using the 993 parts makes the rod extend 8mm shorter. I am going to swap back to the GT2 spring and remove the spring cup.
