Default 2004 Porsche 996 Turbo and 2004 Boxer driver side door panels...are they the same?

hi, hoping someone might be able to help. I need to replace the U.S. driver side black leather door panel in a 2004 Porsche 996 Turbo with the Bose system. A friend mentioned that he thought the same year Boxter door panel is the same. Is this accurate, is there a specific part number that might help me in my search?
Thank you

The Boxster door panel you want has to be from a car that had the full leather option. Otherwise it will not be the same as a turbo door panel.

thank you. i've seen a few options on eBay but they don't say Bose on the speaker. hopefully i'll find a nice one and that it's easy to switch the speaker covers.

The panels themselves are the same, but the door handles and armrests are different. The 911 and Boxster parts are interchangeable though, just make sure you buy one that is leather wrapped.

thank you, i just compared the eBay options with the panel on our 996 turbo. Our's has a long line of stitching along much of the length of the panel that i'm not finding on the Boxters....i'll have to keep searching

The long line of stitching is for the leather. If it doesn't have that it's the standard interior and not the full leather.

Though if you're going for weight loss, the standard panels do weigh a decent amount less than the full leather. The rear panels in my car were damaged when I bought it (crappy stereo install) and I replaced them with non-leather Carrera panels and they were lighter by a good pound or so each.
