Question on ceramic body coatings
All,
As I am down by rain, I thought I'd put a couple of coats of ceramic on the body of the turbo.
When the initial application goes on, the car has to be polished smooth, and after five coats of ceramic, it was very smooth.
This morning, I noted that there were some imperfections on the finish - it wasn't smooth to the touch.
Now, polishing the car obviously will remove the existing ceramic coating. On the windshield, and glass, I used a Mr clean abrasive pad, glass is smooth.
I didn't do this on the body.
Does anyone have any thoughts on how to get the body imperfections off without pulling off the existing coating?
Cheers,

Yes, but it has to be on top of the coating, because when the original costing was applied, the car was polished prior, so the things that are there, are post polish and post coating.
Car has gone maybe 5k kms since the cerampro was first applied.

Did you clay the car before applying the ceramic coat? Did you really need that many coats of ceramic?

I see a product like rupes uno advanced in your future. Can decontaminate the car how ever you like, correct the spot your concerned and polish/seal car in one product. I use it for touch ups on my car.
I never thought id be a fan of ceramic coating but it’s makes cleaning a car so much easier, it’s a game changer for me esp for a garaged car. My coating is going on 3 years with touch ups.

I did mine a few years ago using all Adams Polishes materials. They recommend washing, then claying, washing again, compound, polish, then ceramic coating.
That's what I did and it turned out really nicely.

One would think this should last for many years if maintained ...

You need a wash to reset the coating. Remove all the fallout that's stuck to it. Claying it is fine, but may introduce new micro swirls. I like to use an iron remover, specifically, Carpro Ironx. Spray the whole car, and use a microfiber to agitate and remove all the crap that's stuck to the paint. Then wash it and if the coating is working, the car should feel perfect again.

Thanks, I'm in Washington all week, I'll do that next weekend.
Water still beads off it, or at least it did in November, and the finish looks good, so a light polish it is.
Thanks all, appreciated.
