Default Interior Carbon Restoration - Shift ****

I had some cracking when I bought the car. Time in the sun / heat since then hasn't helped any. A local shop said they'd fix it based on photos and then declined the work when they saw it in person. They didn't want to spend the time building the depth back up from what I understood.

Craft Customs in Texas has a portfolio that looked good and quoted $350 plus return shipping. Even after shipping to / from, this was about 1/3 the cost of a new one from Porsche. I think the dealer quoted me months as well on getting the part from Porsche. Turnaround was a little over 2 months so plan accordingly.

The results look great. I need to get some smaller zip ties for the boot attachment to the **** though (needs to be long but thin/skinny so the end isn't noticable under the boot).

I must say, it is a very comfortable shift **** and even better now that I can't feel cracks in it. I bought a spherical one from a popular place as a temporary solution so I could go to an event last week. I was not a fan. For a shift **** from a place with race lineage, it was well made but not ergonomic at all.

Nice!

The aftermarket shifters I see for these cars lookin kinda corny/ricey to me. I don't mind rice in a JDM car but I do feel like its hard to improve on the OEM stuff with these cars but im also a simple no frillz kinda guy

I've got an oem one available if anyone is looking for one. I bought it a few years ago from Suncoast so it's only 5 or 6 years old and shows as new. I only used it for two years and not many actual miles. It's been sitting in a box for quite a while. 50% of Suncoast price.

Is it just the **** or the boot and U shaped trim?

You can always change the leather to gray.

Or leave it black. It would make a nice contrast to the grey interior and match the black carbon fiber trim and other black plastic interior bits. Black goes with everything.

Everytime I see one of these turbo script CF *****, I am reminded that I have a mint one missing somewhere in my house/garage floating around... Unless I sold it to someone else here... Sucks.

This. I believe piranha's last Turbo had a grey interior with black accents. Looked great. Maybe he has some pics?
I also have a regular Turbo script, black leather **** available.

That repair job by Craft Customs is impressive.

All of my carbon has cracks. I think they just recoat it in resin and sand it back down plus polish. Lots of work.
