Manny, just my opinion, but because of the volume that tire rack does, I think you will be hard pressed to beat their prices. You might try Tire Discounters for comparison. Have you thought of Michelin PS2's? Very good tire for combo street and track. But the price for the Bridgestones is very reasonable and probably less than the Michelins.

TireRack.com - great place to research, havent bought there, but probably will next time. I think they are a sponsor on 6speedonline.com if not here, so they are supporters as well...

Have you checked with your dealer?
Yes, they all get them from TireRack, but at more of a discount than an individual and will often be competitive for their clients.
Just a thought.

I've gotten tires from Tirerack 3 times and EVERY time without fail they were the cheapest and the delivery was amazing (within 2 days). I then have my local independant mount them. Easy as can be.

Discount Tire Direct, similar to the Tire Rack but uses their own stores to install. Some diferences in manufacturers. I bought a set of Nitto NT01s from them today, they seem to handle a wide range of tires and cars well.

larry...tire rack also quoted the ps2's and they are about $200.00 more than the bridgestones. i do not track the car and have pretty good success with them. over 12k miles.

Manny, I always got my tires at Discount Tire and they would sell them to me at Tire Rack prices.

BTW - the PS2's are AWESOME tires. I had Pirelli P-Zero, then Bridgestone Potenza RE750 (which cupped really badly), then finally Michelin PS2's. The PS2's were the best all around for grip, low road noise, and ride.

what about the Kumho Ecsta SPT?

Been hearing a lot of good things re; them. Anybody running a set on a TT?

I'M ON MY FOURTH SET OF rears (PIRELLIX2, CONTIX2) and wanted to try something cheaper for teh requisits 4000 miles that the tires are lasting.

the contis still have 1/2 treat left up front - should I go all Kumho when I swap the rears?

does anyone have feedback on the continental sport contacts 2. tire rack sells the fronts for $189.00 and the rears for $328.00. I do not track the car and therfore only interested in good street tires. the bridgestones that i currently have lasted approx. 9k miles.

Funny I have complete opposite feeling on the contis. They are a good all around tire. Not the best grip, not the best price, not the quietest. But they are good in all those categories. Currently I have about 7000 miles on mine and they look to have at least another 3-4000 left on the rears and the fronts still look new. I haven't measured the depth of tread...just going by site. These contis have been on the track twice and done one mile shootout. Again not the best gripping tires but certainly good enough for my skills and certainly fine for the street. MY $.02

I have them on my TT. I have about 3K on them and they have been fine especially for the price. I dont know how they would be in the cold but they stick pretty good in the rain. I got them at Discount tires. You can buy a full set for less then the 2 rear PS2's I was running before.
