Default Lowering via springs

I have searched around but couldn't find any really good info on this. Does anyone make a good set of springs that will lower my car a little but not make the ride too jarring?

I currently have stock USA spec springs. Would the OEM Euro spec work for me?

In an ideal world I would love to fit a magnetically adjustable suspension system to my car like the 991 has but it seems no aftermarket systems are available.

I would NOT do springs only. Waste of time and it isn't going to help the handling. You are going to get "bounce" in your ride. I would go with a proper setup. What is your budget?

I have a full JRZ suspension on my car now and its amazing and I have never ran anything other then a full coilover setup and or a proper spring and shock setup on my other cars.

I wouldn't skimp on the suspension. To me its the most important part of this car.

Budget is not really an issue. Ride quality is the most important.

As I wrote if someone made an after market magnetically adjustable system it would be on my car tomorrow. I would like to lower the ride height but not have my teeth rattle going over bumps. I live in the mountains of northwest NJ. The roads suck.

Mountains in Jersey...you're kidding right?

I agree on the coil overs vs. springs...Just get PSS9's. or 10's

I know it sounds crazy but it is true. We actually have ski resorts and "mountain people".

I've done both time in Patterson, as well as having enjoyed two 96 turbos on h&r springs.

Patterson is the rougher ride, by far. Though I can't recall any hill folk lol

I did the spring thing at first and then upgraded to coilovers... so, I have a set of H and R springs for sale if you want them!

Patterson is too far east. You have to head to the extreme north west for the mountain folks.

That well explains my predilection for home brew in fast cars on mountain roads with the law chasin me lol

I always thought that was the Kentucky side of me.

Powderhound has several nice recipes for a 6turbo suspension, if budget is not really an issue. There's a thread on here somewhere.....

Edit - Are you living amongst the Jackson Whites?

Why not do a spring and strut combo? Pay close attention to the spring rates of your stock springs vs the spring rates of the springs you are looking at. Maybe a variable spring rate is good for you?

I did Ruf springs only and got rid of them as the ride was way too jarring (996 TT Cab). Changed to Bilstein PSS10's and ride much better.

I will try and find that thread, thanks.

No, I am in northern NJ horse country in the foothills of the Ramapos. The Jackson Whites stay on their side of the mountains and I stay on mine.

How do the PS10's ride comfort compare to a stock set up?

we can help you sort out a set of JRZ's that will work very nicely for both the street and the track
