hate to say it , the price on that kit just went up over $500.00. they were $1175, now the kit is over $1700...if you do consider to fix it, make sure you spend the money and replace the kit, the 01 turbo needs to be updated and then you will not have any more problems....just a little input...vinnie

$1700? ...not necessarily... depends where you buy it.

chances are the wing works fine its just tripping a warning light. Have someone follow you on the highway to confirm this. If it is actually functioning properly take it to a shop that can code the inst. cluster and disable the warning..DONE!
If in fact the spoiler does not function, individual spoiler parts can be replaced. It's a little more difficult this way(due to bleeding the hydrolics), but a lot cheaper.
The reason the dealer price is so high is cause there just going to replace the whole assembly.

I have looked at the Misha GT2 option - it is surprisingly affordable, and is a full rear deck lid and wing. Meaning, I would still have my factory deck lid and wing to put back on if I choose to in the future. I appreciate the advice about Ebay - i would buy a donor decklid/wing at some point int he future i I see one.

I knew about the problem and the PO was very open about it. My mistake was thinking that I knew the price to fix it (comapring my knowledge of similar issues with my 993's in the past) this was a miscalculation. However, the PO is a great guy, I knew of all problems/issues before buying the car. The purchase price was lower because of the issues, and it is a beauty.

The Misha GT wing and deck lid is on special for 1200 right now, it is also built to hold the factory turbo fan, so it is a direct bolt on unit. Of course, there is painting to be done, but it comes primed and ready to go - this will likely be my solution. The pictures on the first page accurately show the Misha look. Very nice, in my opinion.

Thanks guys - pics to come

Yes - I am going to try to add hydraulic oil soon, just need to find the time to pull the parts out. I ordered the "magic tool" spoiler removal tool and have that on hand. Just need a weekend....
