Constant noise in driver's door on a cab
Hi,
I bought a 2004 Turbo cab with 15,500 miles.
Great car, but it has a noise that drives me crazy. I only drive the car with the top down.
There is a noise coming out of the driver's side door. It is so loud that my passenger can hear it. Window up or down only makes a tiny difference.
It sounds like some part inside the door has tension and constantly vibrates. The vibration is amplified since the door acts pretty much like the body of guitar.
I'll take the door panel off this weekend to see what it is.
Do you guys have any ideas what I should look for? Should I use Dynomat for the inside of the door?
Thank you.

I had a 996 cab a few years ago and had the same issue. The noise you are hearing is probably due to chassis flexing. A cabrio is not as rigid as a coupe and you will notice more chassis noise. I tried everything and could never get rid of the noise.

Take it to a good body shop and have them take it apart and put back togeather.

After you get the door panel off, check the screws that hold the speaker box in place. I have been in several Turbos with door rattles and it has always been one of those screws coming loose.
