Speed is addictive. You're probably gonna end up getting that ECU remapping done yourself at the $pend of $1500+. I found my '04 996TT cabriolet off of Autotrader. I set up notifications of new cars via their website to keep track of new listings. I also got a 1 month subscription to Galves to have a good perspective of true vehicle pricing rates as well as a month's subscription to Carfax. I used Autocheck a few times but it seemed to leave off some detail on several cars (as far as maintenance history).

As a side note, I think it's disrespectful and in poor taste to replace the legendary "turbo" badge with a "911" badge or any other badge for that matter.

i have come to think of them as often informative if not long winded soliloquies and btw, GLWS i'm surprised no one has picked it up. really.

I have actually been speaking with a few guys offline and should have an update soon. Just don't want to post anything substantive until the new owner has a chance to shout from the mountain top his excitement first

Purchased Bill's pristine, one-owner, low mileage red '02 996tt Coupe yesterday. Wow, what an incredible car. Yeah! No more PPI's and plane tickets.

Can't wait for this car to arrive back home on Tuesday.

I can't imagine why you wouldn't want ECU remap. .6bar on these cars is criminal!

Are you only getting .6 bar? Something is wrong then.

I am routinely 0.8-0.9 bar on an unflashed stock non-X50 03Turbo.

No, my boost is double that lol. 1.2-1.3 depending on conditions.

It's my understanding that stock turbos nonx50/S (k16) peak at .7 then level at .6.

Congrats on the sale. If you saw .8/.9 you were either

A) Flashed
B) live at higher altitude and Lower O2 partial pressure.

100% stock and never flashed.

I live in Raleigh, NC which is 600 ft, so not a high altitude.

From all the literature I have read that stock is 0.7-0.9 depending on location. To get 0.6 must be in the worst possible combinations.

And your 1.2 bar must be a thing of beauty when you hit the go fast pedal

Hehe yeah, she's awesome (to me). While 640hp seems like nothing these days in the 996/7tt world, it's so streetable and reliable and feels totally stock that I can't justify spending more to get some marginal gains.

These cars are awesome.

agreed. there is nothing like the blast of 1.2 bar boost and very different from my stock x50.. the reliability factor is just icing on cake.
