Default 2003 Turbo Coupe ... Pricing?

Will be checking out this '03 Turbo Coupe in person soon.

What do you think the price should be (and why)?

Thanks

Since it looks like it's in excellent shape, should be around 49K to about 51Kmax. The 51K is based on the low mileage. Why, becuse that's the going market value! Excellence magazine, Porsche only mag, has it in this category also. Cars of that year in that condition around here are going for the 49 to low 50's.

Be sure you get a pre purchase inspection by Porsche before you commit.

That is one good looking car!

For pricing, what Kevinmacd said.

Thanks for the replies.

Could anybody provide a link to a PPI form designed for a 996 Turbo?

Generally speaking, does Speed Yellow over black interior tend to increase or decrease the selling price of a 996 Turbo?

Condition of tires is okay. They appear to be the original tires, so ... are 8 year old tires still okay?

Thanks

I recall seeing that auction go to $45k and the reserve was not met. The price range Kevin mentions seems pretty fair and accurate. If you're close to Victory, I'd consider going up there with cash, bypassing the 'sales guy' and going straight to the owner or general manager with your out-D-door price. Cash is King.

Tires that old are probably starting to dry out. I wouldn't do any high speed driving with tires that old!

autotrader is loaded with 996's in Texas in this price range, plenty of private party sales out there where you might find an enthusiast for the breed and not just for your cash.

My local dealer that does PPIs uses the CPO check list for its PPI check list. Your local dealer might provide you with a blank CPO check list you could modify/use for a DIY PPI.

Since you are probably going to have someone else do the PPI locate a shop that does these and get a check list from it to see if you like what's on the list, to get a feel for how comprehensive it is, compared to the CPO check list.

Exterior and interior colors are a personal matter. Many are put off by the color and yet many like it. Personally I like speed yellow and the black leather interior really goes well with the exterior color. (My 08 Cayman S was SY with black leather interior.)

Generally (there are exceptions) used car buyers are more concerned about price and condition of the car and less about its color and options. This does not mean one buys a good car in an ugly color or a car that is lacking options the buyer must have.

No need to run up to the car and throw your arms around it screaming I love speed yellow! Act a bit put off by the color. But don't overdo it or the seller would begin to wonder why you're then still interested if the color is so distasteful to you. Just plant a seed of doubt in the seller's mind that the color might be a negative and with a buyer in front of him he might do well to lower his price sights a bit. You won't convince him to give the car away but he might be more inclined to accept your lower offer rather than hold out for a few more dollars.

Porsche and IIRC tire makers as well consider tires past their use by date when the tires are 6 years old. If you are serious about the car factor into your price the cost of fitting proper N-rated tires and treating the car to a full alignment.

Anyhow, have fun shopping.

Sincerely,

Macster.

Good luck, if it does check out, it seems to be a very nice vehicle. Keep it under 200, cops will see a yellow streak, and chase it! LOL!

At least the rear tires will probably have been replaced by 24K miles - most people are getting around 12-15k on the rears.
