High mileage 996 TT?

Did you ever "upgrade" to some more robust Sachs parts? Or simply stay with the OEM clutch replacement parts?
One last (? - if I may?! ) How many accumulators!? Bet it's more than ONE!

My newfound fascination for the proven longevity of these Mezger motored marvels, I again have found that "other" car listed upthread as having apparently been or sale in 2017 then with 590,000 miles.
Sure would like a status update on that car, and hoping it is still on the road. If so, it could also be up there in miles with T2's car.

I have ( had! ) long believed I did pretty good with my original OEM clutch for an up/downhill canyon carver, lasting as long as it did! But I have never once heard of clutch longevity, such as you have had. All I can do by now is

So lets just say I have accumulated "a few" accumulators and slave cylinders and one clutch master cylinder over 20 years......

Tom! ( if I may? ) I have read of your progress over the years and probably since your car was first chronicled in print. I am only happy we share the platform and our famously robust Mezger motors, and moreover that I have had this opportunity to both congratulate and encourage your continuing piling on of the miles! As the owner of one ( two, one of them now long gone actually ) 996 Turbos with one now just a hair over 200k in mileage, I am buoyed to read of your continuing journey.
As for me! I am taking this slowly, at 100K miles at a time! Which as compared to you, is ever so slowly! All the best, to both you and the car Sir!

I remember that black car with 500k. It was in for service, tech bought it and never heard about it again. Wonder where it is?

Tom, I remember seeing you and your car on the Samoset rally in 2004, I think we gassed up together. If I recall correctly, you had recently bought it.

It's behind a paywall, unfortunately, but I see our friend @T2 is famous: He Wants to Drive a Million Miles in His Porsche. He’s Not That Far Off.
