Default Low voltage, then high

This morning when I started my car I had low voltage, 10volts. Aftermarket stereo was flashing on and off. Let it idle for about 20 sec's, then up to 14 volts with a slight whine through the speakers. Seem to be fine while driving, 14 volts. When at a stop, dropped to 13-13.5 volts. Any guesses, alternator, diodes, belt, battery? The car started great, no lugging or struggling.
thanks,
Joel

Joel, lately a lot of problems with voltage regulator seen in different forums. Easy to replace and not expensive....

You could have a diode going in the voltage reg, or a bad cell in the battery. Have the battery load tested first.
