Why didn't you buy it yet? Show me another 2002 with those miles for under 40K without a crash or title issue.

I'm deciding on taking a friends 2002 Turbo for $35k with 31k miles. Black on black (an issue since I want seal gray), Have not done a ppi but he's the second owner and has only had small issues over the years I've known him (door lock, switch here or there, some lights on the controls, ect. Tires have about 5k on them, just had its 30k service. Oh, the front bumber was resprayed a year or so ago after someone bumped him in the parking lot we use - I see the car most every day.

He's trading it for the 997 Turbo. I'm highly considering it - but for the color it would be a done deal
you should buy this one. I just paid more than 10k more than that after taxes on a car with the same stats.

Ok - ok - I'll buy the car. I took a closer look this morning - will need a really good detail and tires will probably be on last season - will want to sell the turbo rims - one has rash - but want to look for something else - deep dish perhaps.

Also he put a gray alcanta wheel and shift skirt.

Moving off this thread to my other - WTB 996 Turbo - didn't mean to hijack

Crazy88 - if that car has what your looking for then look into it it's not a bad deal - mine is a different situation

I'd like to hear more about the $31,500 deal. That's the cheapest I've ever heard of a TT selling for anywhere. When I was looking the cheapest one out there was like 34K and it had ninety some thousand miles. There's a rebuilt TT on E-bay in the mid 30's.

I looked into that car - it's an x50 and I think its sold. The pictures show that a whole new front end was needed but mostly cosmetic - the frame was untouched - Big problem was the salvage title. I passed

It was actually at a small dealer of exotics north of Tampa.

Clean carfax needs to have the dash trim parts replaced or repainted, someone painted them artic silver and they were not very qualified.

May also need the front differential bearings replaced, the're humming at anything over 100 mph. It is weird though, comes on like a switch at 97-98mph.

There has been some paintwork, but very nicely done, could not tell till a meter was put on it. Tore trunk and engine compartment apart, could not find evidence of damage. Also checked carefully on lift.

Needs window mechanism for drivers door it is crunching.

Sunroof does not work automatically as it should.

All of this is not a problem for me as I do ALL of my own repairs.

But, for the price and mileage. Had to do it. 34k out the door with tax, tags and title.

Noise might be diff bearings might be something else. My 03 Turbo developed a what I thought to be a wheel bearing noise that came on pretty strong at 75mph which turned out to be simple alignment caused. In my car's case and you should check for this, the front tires have signs (feel) of tire scuffing from the misalignment.

Sincerely,

Macster.

This weekend I am going to swap tires with the 99 and take for a drive to see if that helps.
