Three Wheelin'
Oh mine isn't nearly as cool as his. This one is the one he had before he upgraded (Actually the exact one from his car), his new one is like a widescreen ultra HD thing that replaced the whole cluster. Mine just sits in front of it.
Still has a lot of the same functionality, Ive got engine map switching, traction map switching, etc all on the steering wheel switches

There are a lot of 'Hand Me own John Parts' on this forum...
Very cool though, well lit.

From conversing with you here I was under the impression that you plan on just tooling around mostly on the street?
If so and I might offer some advice in that regard? Your money would be far better spent on other add on's other than the 997.2 I/C's, as "heatsoak" driving around on city streets and even highways is a non issue. I don;t know how or what the car already has bolted on to it. But yeah. So many things additional to buy for these cars. I get it!
If you do however discover heatsoak to be a problem while on public roads? You're speeding - a LOT

I've heard it could be beneficial for non-track use. I am anticipating very dirty and possibly bent fin IC's when I remove the bumper. I believe my car was tracked quite a bit. I found lots of rubber bits in the front radiator intakes and service records mention track use. It does get very hot here but I'm not sure if the temp delta is linear when ambient goes up. Most of the upgrades are suspension and brakes aside from a mild tune.
I, too am planning on the 997GT2RS Intercoolers eventually. They are very efficient at whisking away hot air apparently and ideal for track day type driving and ideal for a somewhat peppy street car as well. I spoke to a well known tuner on here and he recommended upgrading the intercoolers as well for a k16 hybrid setup.
Not looking forward to it as I dont want to cut up my stock stuff but the data is there.

This is the product (actually it isn't because for some reason the link isn't working correctly) :
New Thermal Management Coatings | Tech Line Coatings Industries Inc
Worked pretty good on mine; I pretty much coat everything.

Yeah, their marketing is not really aged well.
Got the car backtogether and running, thing pulls smooooth and hard!
Pulled onto the highway near my house, tapped the + button on the steering wheel into 3rd gear and heard a loud swoosh. The passenger side intercooler hose that goes into the y-pipe popped off. I was having a hard time getting the c-clip on and apparently it didn't clip on properly.
I ran out of daylight so I couldn't check it, but do y'all think its still there? Should I order another one?

thx for this. Very interesting. Are you able to get them to do “small batch “ parts or do they have a minimum size order? Headers, exhaust and intercooler coating has peaked my interest.

The c-clips indeed lose their ability. Even I must have a couple extra somewhere. All part of the joy.

That, my fellow 996 Turbo owner, is the platform equivalent of busting your cherry. If you'll forgive the metaphor. For I dare say there is no one among us that after swapping plugs/coils and buttoning everything back up - has not had one of the c-clips on an I/C hose pop on a first few hard pulls If it ever happens again? Not to worry, you'll never get over the surprise.

Has anyone explored using stainless teel cable ties/wraps or using some sort of steel wire to hold it in place?
