Interesting. I haven't gotten any sort of recall notice for it. I've had it for years and it seems fine...

Mine is a LiftMaster also - I think the model is 8500W now.

Nice setup. Mine would be for working on the vehicle, not storage. I have a golf cart and tool chests on the side of the Turbo. Definitely no room for another car.

Quickjack has a few of their products on sale for open box or refurb but they don't lift very high and quite heavy to move around.

I'm thinking of doing the Quick Jack and just leaving it on the floor. Getting the jack/stands setup (both my cars on them now) gets old really quick. I see no point in the storage type 4 posts as you still have that big *** lift there and to service you'll need the middle jacks to lift the car off the rack. I guess for some it makes sense for more storage. I'd still do a 2 post and just leave a car racked. You can now get a small ceiling 2-post lift. I think it only needs 9' ceiling height. Look up low clearance lifts.

As in drive over it? I don't know how well that would work. You might be able to drive over it if under the middle of the car, I think the 5000 is only 3" tall when collapsed.

We have a Wrangler and a Ram so I would need the 7000TL. If that is not able to be used for dropping an engine out of the Turbo, not positive I want to purchase one.

I do not think there was a recall per se, once I identified the problem and called them, they were very much aware of the issue, and as I said, they sent me a new drive unit overnight at no cost to me - I'd been living in the house for 6 years at that point, so it was well out of warranty.

I just had the control panel replaced on my 8500C. There was a recall because the door would open on it's own. You should have seen the look on my face last winter when I was working in the garage and suddenly the door opened!

It was your neighbor opening his door; mine did the same.

Leaving them on the floor was a no go on my track focused Miata. Between frame rails and braces sticking down just a little too far, it was too close for comfort / needed to be precise on the parking job. The (lowered) 911 would probably clear them so long as the rubber blocks weren't stored in them but I'm often angling the car in or parking way over to one side depending on what things needs to be done on for which car. Too much stress.

But I backed over my creeper in the past year so I'm a little traumatized about things on the floor.

I hear ya. The backup camera I installed helps a little bit.

Less to worry about not trying to drive over them but they are large to store. My shed is at it's breaking point as is my garage.
