What did you do to your 996TT today?

i have 76,xxx miles on car. It’s a new purchase for me and I did notice a small oil leak after purchase. Turned out it was from some small hose at the to p of the engine that would have been near impossible for repair with the engine in. This was an incidental finding as we planned to drop the engine.
Basically everything ran tight and clutch felt good when driving. Not like new but good.
‘’Plans are for performance focused upgrades and preventative maintenance. All hoses that can degrade are being replaced. New aluminum water pump, dv valves. Sachs clutch with new flywheel. New coil packs plugs and all fluids.
The car is getting full suspension upgrade to monoball with 3 way gt3 res clubsport dampers. New gt3rs front uprights (knuckles). All new motor, transmission, and subframe mounts will be installed.
For brakes, I’m moving to a 997 gt3 rotors and calipers as well as new gt3 master cylinder. 380mm/350mm size. I think this will keep the brakes cooler and tires cooler as well. New stainless steel teal brake lines to all four corners as well.
‘’For wheels, I’m going to put some OZ lightweight wheels on it. Plan to give Nitto NT-01 tires a try. Heard so many great things about them.
Now, I’m contemplating exhaust and turbo upgrades. I am thinking something mild to moderate with built in reliability. Not sure where to go about that but learning about it will be another fun part!

After almost 10 years of trouble free use, it was time for some refreshing. I guess it was the 150K refresh (153K miles). The front radiators showed some signs of dried seeping coolant, so we installed the CSF Racing high performance one piece aluminum radiator set (no pressed seams like OEM), installed a Protomotive double clutch/764PP/LWF (all Porsche OEM components, 1000+HP holding power), installed GT3 style LW underdrive pulley, installed new wastegates, installed new diverters, installed new plugs, new air filter, 4 new tires, road force balance/alignment, smoke tested everything, cut GT2 rear decklid and fitted rubber seal for dual snorkel air box to newly fitted GT2 rear decklid, refreshed the powder coat on the Y-Pipe and finally uploaded the Porsche crest .jpeg to the Nav head unit, it finally looks official.... Hopefully ready for another 10 years. Below are some pictures.

Looking great! Why install the LW underdrive pulley? I have also considered doing this, presumably to relieve some stress on the PS pump during track days, but I have never found any evidence to support use of these pulleys on our cars. Do you know of any real world support to this? It's funny because I'm generally a supporter of LW underdrive pulleys and have found them to be minor performance enhancers on other cars (quicker and easier revs, theoretically less drain from accessories), but for some unexplained reason I have been hesitant to install one on the turbo.

Burning Brakes
Well, this wasn’t exactly today but I got my car back about a month ago from having various work done, including:
- Having the coolant lines pinned
- KW V3 suspension installed
- Upgrading clutch
- New coil packs and plugs
- Forge silicone hoses
- New diverter valves
- Change transaxle and front differential fluid
- New slave cylinder and accumulator
- MAF sensor
Other than the MAF sensor, none of the above items were necessary but I had them done more for peace of mind and to get the car ready to rock for many miles to come. Here she is currently at 12.5k miles:
- Having the coolant lines pinned
- KW V3 suspension installed
- Upgrading clutch
- New coil packs and plugs
- Forge silicone hoses
- New diverter valves
- Change transaxle and front differential fluid
- New slave cylinder and accumulator
- MAF sensor
