( finally ) installed my tarret camber plates and something was terribly amiss! had seriously loud clunking and would not even drive the car two feet. sounded like the cars that need lower spring perches for 2.5 springs.. which mine should not have needed!? i will wait to hear what ira at tarret says but i installed the 50$ backing bearing plates and put in my old top mounts ( after digging thru my garbage can to retrieve them LOL! ) and after a seat rail adjustment and lubing the sliders nary a sound to be heard!

changed out my winter blend ( lol ) of syntec 0/40 (5qts ) with 3+ qts of syntec 5/50. not as quiet as my last predominately 5/50 fill, but it'll be fine for the next 4/5 months.

still gonna r&r top mounts, but i think i may stay oem as others here have suggested. a shame really, since the tarretts are so.... umm, red!

It will be interesting here in Pa as so far they have not mentioned the work done on my other cars but I am under the 5k mile driven rule that makes me exempt on emissions.

Drove in the rain... 93 octane tune is so slow compared to E85.. still may help the car for a few weeks

In the three months since I bought my car, I have done my share to keep the economy chugging along by having a lot done to my car:

1. changed oil and filter
2. flushed brake fluid
3. changed coolant
4. fixed a rattle coming from the speaker in the passenger side door
5. fixed the rear spoiler (I posted a thread on this today)
6. replaced a burned out parking lamp
7. bought new Lloyds floor mats
8. replaced the old, scratched up center console with a nice new one (Thanks, Polar Porsche for selling me the new console!)
9. replaced ugly green, faded carbon fiber batwing with nice shiny new-looking carbon fiber batwing (Thanks, LA Dismantler!)
10. Installed new Sony single-DIN stereo with Bluetooth connectivity
11. tinted windows
12. polished headlights
13. replaced spark plugs
14. dyno tested my car -- confirmed that the 500 hp advertised by the seller for my supposedly "chipped" car was FALSE. Happily, I didn't pay him any extra for the non-existent tune, but I will admit it made me more eager to buy this particular car and overlook several minor flaws.
15. installed carbon fiber ashtray delete in center consol (thanks, MA Carbon!)

Still to come: New carbon fiber "horseshoe" and AC surround pieces from DB Carbon.

Altogether, I've spent about $2,900 getting this car closer to shipshape. There are still a few things on my to-do list:
1. refinish wheels
2. refinish calipers
3. remove an almost-invisible dent
4. detail the wheel wells
5. replace my wrinkled and bubbly leather dashboard
6. maybe replace my faded green carbon fiber instrument surround piece with a nice new one.
7. replace the Porsche crest on my hood -- someone tried to pry it off with a screwdriver and bent it slightly.

Got the flipping pivot shaft installed yesterday. Mounted the gt2 slave today and started bleeding it.

Still have to button everything up though.

Washed, clay bar, polished and waxed the car. The paint was real bad condition and this weekend was the first time I had time for this job since purchasing the car back in November. I am quite happy with the results.

I fixed the loose screw in the drivers door, another 2001 model rattle beaten. Fitted 15mm spacers on the rear, will post pics of before and after. Tried 7mm spacers on the front but these weren't hub centric so caused steering vibration. Thinking of going 15mm on the fronts too, any thoughts on this?
