Default Total electrical shutdown

04 -996
Went out to start the 996 today but had no power, dash lights ,no nothing. Tried the emergency trunk release and nothing happens when I hook up the battery charger to the emergency post.Has a month old new battery. Since I can't find the trunk release cable it looks like a trip on a flat-bed to the shop.Searched the forums but can't find any results to this problem. Anybody have any ideas where to start looking for a answer.
Thanks Guys !!!

Release cable is on the passenger side fender ! You have to pull really hard on it.

The release on my car was also on the right passenger side from the factory. It takes a little hunting around but you should be able to find it. The first time I ever had the bumper off I rerouted it to a more accessible location and lightly taped it in place for easy retrieval.

Good Luck!

Default Electrical shutdown

Doesn't sound like you are getting a good ground this has happened to be as well. Make sure you have a good ground and try using the remote on the key to open the hood. I ground mine to the latch inside the door.

Try using jumper cables to the trunk release from another battery. Make sure to connect a good ground as well.

Many battery chargers will not turn on and provide current without being connected to an actual battery. Also, some won't turn on when connected to a stone dead battery. Depends on the charger.

Engine/body ground strap and/or power cable rotted. Check alternator output after cable integrity is confirmed

You can hook up a battery to a connector in the fuse box and open the frunk.

Hey Guys
Never could get the truck open even when I hooked up the fuse panel with a hot battery,so today it went off to the shop it on a flatbed. Since I live about 50 miles from my independent shop, the flatbed charge was $300. Hopefully I will hear from them tomorrow on what's wrong, maybe something simple. Very helpless feeling when you can't get to battery or engine compartment . I will post on what they find out the problem is.
Thanks for all the suggestions!

Allright........problem appeared to be a stuck switch that controls the engine compartment light.Light would stay on even when rear hood was in the closed position.Disabled the light and it looks like the battery discharge rate is in line with Porsche specs. Thanks again for the help trying to trouble shoot this issue !!!

Since all you had was a dead battery, why weren't you able to get the hood open with the battery jumped to the release at the fuse panel?

Looks like you had plenty of other Turbos while it was gone, so I'm not feeling too sorry for you.

That 930 is drop dead gorgeous.
