What are correct OEM wheels for '05 TTS?
I have been a lurker here for almost a year, but have never posted. About 9 months ago, I purchased an '05 TTS. Save for 19" Champion Motorsports RG19 wheels, the car is completely stock.
The Champions look wonderful on the car, but at 66 years old, I want something more compliant on the street. Yes, it will ONLY be a weekend date car for my wife and me.
As an aside, in my youth, I purchased new, a 1970 911T, 1972 911T, 1976 930 and a 1980 911 Carrera SC. These were all wonderful cars that I could handle quite well (except for the 930) back then.
From 1983 until 2013, I did not own a Porsche. Now that I have the 996 TTS, I can't believe how bloody fast and great handling this car is. Maybe I have a poor memory! Considering how I contort to enter the TTS, I also can't believe that I fit into the older air cooled cars.
I wish to purchase the original wheels, however, in my search, I've not come across the correct factory colored version. I know that they are painted in GT Silver, and now find out that the part numbers MAY BE different than the normal hollow-spoke version found on the non-TTS.
My questions are;
Are the part numbers cast into the wheels indeed different than the non-TTS style? If so, I will continue to search for the correct part numbered wheels and not repaint to GT Silver the standard hollow-spoke version.
Other than this forum's classifieds, any suggestions where to look for the correct TTS wheels?
Many thanks for allowing me to learn a lot about these wonderful cars. You are a treasure trove of knowledge!

Hi ejcon,
I too have a '05 S with stock wheels. I believe the wheels are standard hollow spokes that were painted GT silver from the factory. I'll get under the car and check it out for you.

Thank you for your replies. It now appears that the TTS wheels have a different part number cast into them.
David, no hurry, but when you have an opportunity, let me know the part numbers of your wheels.

I finally had a chance to look at the stock BBS wheels and this is what is cast into them:
Front: (M418) 996.362.136.32
(Seire) 996.362.136.04
Rear: (M418) 996.362.142.32
(Seire) 996.362.142.11
Hope that helps.
