The engine is alive again. I've put around 500 miles on it since i got it back, took a bit of time because i was out for a couple weeks.
So far the engine feels great, i'd say stronger than before but that could be because i didn't drive it for 2 months.
I think the engine also stopped making that chain rattle noise that it used to at idle. I hear that most 996TTs/996s in general make that though, so it's probably a matter of it breaking in some more.
All in all the car now has a practically new engine and some other assorted bits, so hopefully it'll be super reliable for a while.
