I own 2002 tip, i like it specially with tune and exhaust and othet light mod, one more thing my wife can drive it easily.
If you want to tune and more power go for 6speed and if no go with tip

Looks nice. Duh , this one a Tip. I guess for the other one you mentioned in another post. Were you able to negotiate the price due to the clutch and brake job? Has a PPI been done ?

The owner of the other car apparently doesn't want to negotiate. I emailed him and I have heard nothing.
The 2002 Tip, is a local car whereas the other one is across the country.
Love everything about the 2002, just not sure about the Tiptronic..

When I started looking for a Turbo, I had the mindset that I was not going to make any compromises and settle for a Tiptronic. Long story short, I ended up with a Tip. It was much better than I had read about, and the transmission definitely "wakes up" when getting into some aggressive driving. I would equate it to a new car being switched into sport mode. Shifts become more crisp and it revs out more freely. I think until you push the car a bit, you will not really appreciate the potential of the tip. Is it ever going to give you the control and raw driving experience of a manual? No. But it is quite good in its own right. This coming from a guy who prefers manual transmissions...
I think the most important thing, as some have mentioned, is what modifications you have planned for the car. For big hp builds, the 6-speed will most likely be a better option, but the tip should handle around 500~550 whp.
Car looks great btw.

I wouldn't be doing any upgrades at all..

I actually really like the red and more so that the exterior is red as well. I reckon that will age well. I would be tempted to go back to a red console though to you know, tone it down a little...

^^^ Yep... the red interior works well with that shade of red exterior. I'd be a proud owner of that car for sure!
Do you mind if I ask what the seller wants for it?
