Feeler 996TT; sell to upgrade to 997 TT
I'm contemplating; as is to do when you have time to think while everything is calm on the homefront.
Im thinking a fair price, over $40K, less than $45K.. What's the RL opinion??
2003 Slate Grey 996TT; 6 Spd manual, 61K miles. Natural Leather Grey Interior,
Well documented; COA. Original Window sticker. Great DD. Never been flashed. All Stock internals/Turbos, intercoolers.
Currently riding on the TRM forged wheels with GT2 sized Michelin/Toyo Proxes 315/30 rear, 235/40 front. No issues. Approx 4000 miles.
I have all keys, manuals and plenty of paperwork... And I have the OEM Sport Technos with Hankook V12 Evos with approx. 50% tread rear / 75% tread front.
If the TRM wheels aren't worked into the deal...
I owe a few thou to USAA, so the title is not free and clear....soon to be....
Purchased Nov 2011 from LVDell with approx 51K miles. Sport Techno wheels.
Dell presented me with a large volume of paperwork. Original window sticker.
This Turbo has been a Southern Car, CPO'd three times ......
Lived mainly Georgia, Alabama, North Carolina, Florida.....
Major Mods which came with purchase in Nov 2011:
Speedtech Cross-Flow exhaust. includes cat by-pass pipes. I've been driving with the cats since purchasing the car;
mainly for some noise reduction since we don't have emissions inspections in FL. Great sound, no drone.
Front GT3 6 pots up front; 350mm rotors all around. Steel braided brake lines all around.
Brakepad material has plenty of life. They are still in great condition
X73 suspension
997 Short shift Kit
GT2 front brake cooling ducts
997 Turbo rear brake cooling ducts
Rennline wheel studs conversion all wheels
Hardwire V1
XM antenna installed
Tarrett Rear Toe arms and locking plates
smoke side markers
front diff gear oil flushed prior to purchase. brakes bled with Castrol SRF July 2013. I have changed the oil every 6 months 5W40 Pentosin. In the last year: New Waterpump, serpentine belt, fuel filter, cabin filter, air filter, sunroof felt, clutch accumulator, frunk trunk release motor, battery, New key guts reprogrammed.
All users can give an opinion on a fair selling value, but the original post is very long and thorough.
Early viewers got to see the full monty; but I will reduce the size of this post because it does appear to be a FS Ad.
The rest of the story is available in the Member to Member Classifieds.
I can at least post some pics..............
Cryo detailed the complete undercarriage last month......... all plastic panels, suspension components, and behind the plastic wheel well covers. I have more pics in the Concours forum and in this forum......

I think its worth 43 (sell for 45 but take no less than 43). For a 60k car i would usually think 38+ but the car sounds well sorted and ready to drive. I bought a tt with 48k miles for 38, but i put 3k in terms of servicing into it (60k service, plugs, coils, coolant tank, battery, all fluids replaced)and 1-2k of cosmetic mods and nav. I may have over done it with the service, but i didn't have any history so might as well cover all my bases. Thankfully the car had new tires, brakes, and clutch. Finally i also put lots of elbow grease into it as well.
There is a lot to be said for a ready to drive car that doesn't appear to need any work. Make sure its clean, waxed, and doesn't look worn and you should get what you're looking for.

I think it is worth every bit of $45k as a final sale price, assuming it is fully maintained / needs nothing.
However, people will want it for about $35-38k. Just my opinion based on my unsold vehicle.

I researched a lot of 996TT cars for sale and compiled the data for my purchase last Sunday. I found out a few things. Mileage matters more than the model year. For a 2003 car, the asking price based on MY averages $40,000 (low $31.8K to high $44K), based on mileage; $40,000 (low $37K to high of $44K). Manual cars command 3 - 4% more on average. Based on the graphs shown, if you sell below the line, all things being equal, the buyer is getting a deal, above the line, and the car should have something that puts it there, and the seller is getting a deal. FWIW, I bought the second least expensive car in the MY 2002 category - only thing wrong is spoiler deployment and need for a new $100 airdam. Helps to have the data. Good Luck!

Yes, I did see the post. A well maintained low ( ish) mileage; let's say sub-40K 996TT should bring good money.
I agree 6spd is a plus. I know my indi prefers dropping manuals vs. Tips. weight and complexity. And clutch jobs bring in good business.....
OPTIONS. that should be the number one list, with most quality cars being equal.
X50 is a major plus.
Natural Leather
Sports Seats
etc.... the list goes on.
What I have seen is if the Turbo in question has seen some hot, hot days out in the sun, the leather, plastic, carbon fiber, even electronics ( i.e. dash, *****, radio and AC displays)... have all pretty much been affected and will need attention.
Either way, it's all what the buyer is looking to get for his target price.
Cheers, Ed.

I've never seen an undercarriage so clean. She looks amazing with 60k on the clock.
In SoCal, mileage is not a huge issue since everyone drives so much.
I'd buy a higher mileage car because the previous owner would have sorted out all the issues. It seems you took great care of the car, performing preventative maintenance that will benefit the next owner, such as changing the serpentine belt with the water pump. It's great that your thermostat checked out fine. Otherwise, it's good to change that out as well.
Not to gush but it's not everyday we see a non-flashed, clean, and well sorted 6tt. IMHO, $48-50k to sit a bit. $47-48 would be a good deal. GLWS

Question
I thought I posted to this thread previously but I do not see it. Your under carriage looks awesome. What is cryogenic cleaning and is this something you can do yourself?

What's wrong with a flashed car?
