Default stainless doorsills

Detailing my newly acquired 2003 996tt and see the stainless turbo door sills are quite scuffed. Anyone have any to improve the appearance rather than spending huge$$$ in replacements

I bought a set from someone who said that he used Brillo and aluminum wheel polish. They look good as new, but I haven't yet tried it.

I have them as well, but they are in great shape. I wonder if the Turbo logo would survive a light scuffing from a Brillo or other semi abrasive work over. It is likely etched in somehow?

Like the look of the stainless sills but they do scuff. Mine are pretty good at 13k miles. I like the carbon better but OEM doesn't age well from the 996tts I've seen.

Scotch Brite pads, probably start with course and finish with medium. Get then at paint stores or auto body supplys.

My take is that the ss sills look better than cf on dark color cars and cf looks better on light color cars.

Thanks again. The sills look good as new. There is not one scratch on them.

Strangely my driver sill came loose this past weekend at a DE event. Will try the Brillo trick (though scuffing is very light and minor) and fasten it back down with 3M VHB acrylic tape.
