Thinking of pinning my coolant hoses

Last year I had mine pinned when my engine was out for preventive reasons only since my clutch was being replaced. It was only $500 extra so to me it was worth doing. Sharkwerks who I think might of been the first shop to start to pin these coolant pipes has done 100's of cars without a failure and they know their stuff. http://sharkwerks.com/porsche/techni...urbo-cars.html

pinning is winning!
pretty easy to DIY if you're handy

Look at it this way if you solder cooper water pipes together in your house. Would you ask the plumber to put a screw in them to keep them from leaking? Welding sounds like a more permanent of a solution to me. How does a screw keep the adhesive from letting go. Just curious. Educate me please. I have to get mine done and want to go the welding route.

best to search the forum, it'll just end it a huge debate here... as I have said on every pin vs weld thread I've inputted on, pro's and con's to each.
pinning allows the epoxy to function solely as a sealant, no longer requiring it to be an adhesive.

I haven't tracked it, yet. I might try a track day later this year.
I am considering driving it down to LA from Vancouver at some point.
Cheers,

I tend to stay out of religious arguments (strongly held views without definitive evidence to support position), but pinning works on cars that have yet to blow there bonds, a position supported by several reputable shops I know, and it has happened in cars that have not been tracked

I don't track my car and blew my first one. That's why motor is coming out in March. I am scared to push it now. Will not really let it boost much so it does not happen again till I can get them fixed.

I'm going to do my neighbour's TT in the Spring, probably...( and my dad's future TT/GT3/GT2...)
Think $2500-3k is fair(for neighbour), including labour to refresh any bits while engine is out.
