Default What insurance are you using?

Due to some instability with my job (they might be moving me to AZ), I have held off on pulling the trigger on a 996tt just to make any possible move a little easier to deal with.

I have the cash for the car and a 2004 IS300 as my daily which should last.. well, forever.

I currently have esurance but they wont cover the turbo when I get it. As it looks like I might have the job thing wrapped up in the near future, I wanted to see who people are using and a ball park of what their premium is.

The quick estimate I got from Allstate was ~$400 a month for both cars with ~8k a year on the IS and ~4k a year on the turbo.

Thanks!

Holy shyte, that's high. I pay 78 bucks a month for mine which is only 5 dollars a month higher than my wife's toyota. Why won't they cover the turbo? I'm using usaa

I have geico and pay around 900, have had good luck with payouts etc from them. I have quite a few cars/equipment insured so that helps.

The eSurance rep said that they dont cover any high value cars. After seeing the quote with Allstate is why I decided to ask on here.

I used to pay something akin to $180 a month for my old Saturn and RX7 (3rd gen) and that was when I was in my mid 20s.

Check farmers, or go through a broker.

Rates depend on where you keep the car, the amount of insurance you have in terms of medical, liability, under insured/uninsured coverage, number of insured drivers, and age/driving record of the insured. So keeping the comparison apples to apples in terms of what we each pay can be difficult.

I have USAA.

Oh, I completely understand that but the differences will be slight compared to what I am seeing.

The turbo would be kept in a locked private garage with premium coverage and a 1k deductible. I dont know what the good collectible agencies are so thats why Im asking.

I'm just pointing out that it could be a very big ball park; bordering on apples to oranges.

When people post up their premiums without a detailed report on all the variables, the comparisons border on useless.

Agreed, but you have to start somewhere. Needless to say, Im not going to be gong with Allstate @300 a month to cover the car

Good call.

Farmers Insurance - $250 a month for both cars, no mileage restrictions and premium coverage with $1k deductible. This is also in Alexandria VA which has pretty high rates.

I live in the Atlanta area, which has IMO high rates in general (makes sense based on the number of people here...+6 million, and the way they drive). I have three drivers insured on the Turbo (my wife and I over 50 years old, plus a 20 year old male; let me know if you don't know what the 20 year old means in terms of rates) all with outstanding driving records, higher than required coverage across the board, a $1000 deductible, and with USAA I pay $71.62/month on a 2002 Turbo.

couldnt agree more. the varaiables tell the tale, so that said 3 cars one of the highest zip codes for rates in the conus zero accidents/tickets and 3 cars w uninsured coverage one bike ( addil 12 ) and 200 a month. 6 mo policies. told em if it's over 200 per mo I'd leave, they keep it under by mere pennies lol

Yes I'm 56 with just me and my wife, she an attorney and believes in more coverage is better so its a good policy. 900 actually a little under that is for a year.
