Who's responsible for resetting car's service clock?
A basic question: Would shop(indy/dealer) reset my service clock ever time they perform major service?
I had mine 2 weeks ago, a 60k maintenance including coils/plug, water pump replacement, and of course oil change. But one week later the 'Service due in 30 days' message popped out.
I never had a chance to do diagnoses by myself so I guess an additional question I'd like to ask is: What does the ship actually do when they reset it? Is that they just turned it off or set the number of miles/some parameters back to origin and it start to count from zero again?
Thanks!

The shop that does the service is responsible for setting those to the next service interval (mileage and calendar time). If they don't have the gear to do that they aren't a full Porsche shop in my book and the price should reflect that.

The shop that does the work is responsible for resetting the maintenance reminders, but even a reputable shop sometimes forgets to reset it--especially if you're **** and have your service done before the dash actually lights up.

if you brought it to an indy, chances are they forgot (or probably needed to be asked specifically to reset for you). if a dealer, then they def missed a check mark. technically either should do it for you / allow you to bring it back since you paid for work. if not, i have a dura and am near you. PM me if you need help resetting.

I had mine turned off. I don't need nuisance reminders flashing in my eyes. I keep a more accurate log book on everything I do to my car. Sometimes those things aren't effective.
