Quadcammer - Duly noted

While the car was at paint, i took the few interior parts that will remain to get re-wrapped

I had the wheel lips clear anodized. Should hold up well and looking forward to not maintaining the polish. Got them back yesterday and assembled the wheels.

I probably won't run the red cap adapters, but I like the raw anodized look of the wheels.

Best helper

Then the tires were mounted

I finally bit the bullet and ordered an OEM euro GT3 rear bumper and dropped it off at paint

Interior parts done - black suede and gray stitching

I picked up a Tequipment roll bar from a local

Also got a smoking deal on a set of OEM Euro 996 GT3 seats from the same guy

Great thread! Also, I really like the black caps with those wheels.

Who did you use to re-wrap your interior? I need to find someone who can shrink wrap vinyl for boat interiors as well - different projects

Copart was good. They took care of everything. My only suggestion is to pay by money order or wire transfer as the fee is 15%. I paid by debit and it was 20%

I've always worked on my cars and the projects have gotten bigger and bigger as the years go by. It's just nuts and bolts. Almost anything can be un-done.

A local in Friendswood, Texas. PM me and I can send his contact if you're interested. He does good work.

A few pics from the painter

Picked it up

And home

They are still working on the bumpers and some small parts, but i've got plenty to do.

What color is that - is it white or more like a putty? It's cool.

Wow, what an amazing job! I always wondered how much it would cost to turn a 997 into a track car, so would be very interested.

The color is called Crayon on the 2017 Panamera and Chalk on the 2018 GT3. Both paint code M9A

A lot, but that's why I started with an auction car.

There's a delay in updating this thread, i'm about a month behind. For example, this is from when Hurricane Harvey came through:

Flood prep. Luckily, the water didn't make it to the house or garage.

I was stuck at home/my neighborhood for 6 days and got a little done.

Door handles/locks/mirrors/seals/windows. This went back together much better than I thought it would. Taking it apart was a pain, but it went back together easy.

Cleaned up the wiring and wrapped it in split loom tekflex. The ECU and relay panel are mounted below the metal pans.

I pulled all the speaker wires, air bag wires, seat belt wires, and anything else not used out of the harnesses and wrapped it up.

Installed the roll bar and rear windows. Again, much easier putting it back together than taking it apart.

Seats

Installed the wing to get all the parts out of the way. Still not sure how I feel about it.

I would agree with you Clay.O, I am not sure how I feel about the wing either. I think that it will look completely different lowered with the wheels and that may be just enough to set the wing off just right.
