Default Indy Shop recommendation - Washington DC/Bethesda MD?

Hi all,

I'm about coming up on a year of ownership on a 2009 C2 Cab. I haven't had any issues and the dealer did oil/filter & plugs when I bought it. I'm probably due for an oil change and am looking for a good indy shop in the area. Any one in DC or Montgomery County MD have recommendations for good local shops?

Thanks..

I've used Auto Sportsystems Group, which isn't too far away from you in Fairfax, VA. I've used them on my 09 997 C2 Cab for about 5 years and unhesitatingly recommend them.

Many thanks - I'll check them out.

Connect with the local guys via doriphus.net - it is a community of the local Porsche group from all over the DC area (NOVA, DC, MD).

I would second ASG. If you want to go west in NOVA, there are a couple other shops out closer to Chantilly/Sterling: Chapman Auto Werks, Intersport, and others depending on location.

Try Redline Motorsports in Purcellville, VA. Tom Stewart is the owner and a real good guy. Porsche fanatic and years of shop and racing experience. Used him many times when I was in the NoVA area. Hope he is still around. It’s been a good 10years since I last talked with him.

Also had had good luck with Ivan and Charlie Murphy at IAS in Tyson’s Corner.

Good luck.

I think a 'k' was missed there: Dorkiphus.net is the local website!

I bought my car from MemberCar up that way. (my profile pic is in their lot). I had mine checked out by:

From my notes when I bought it - I googled it, they still have a website:
German Auto Works
533 Southlawn Ln
Suite 2
Rockville, MD 20850
240.552.9798

Ask for Dennis. He found damn near everything that was wrong with that car. MemberCar fixed it. I am still really happy!

He really seems to know Porsches.

for basic oil change, just go to dealer. might be a tad more expensive than an indy but you also get free espresso and a loaner.

for more involved "routine / normal" maintenance AND in MoCo, check out AutoTherapy in the airpark. rough and dirty, but roger bratter is a good guy (or if you want to venture over the bridge, plenty of others such as intersport, ASG, etc)

for track performance, TPC in jessup. it's a haul but they know what theyre doing with the new stuff.

No worries, Swiftiii -- it's a weird name and not easy to remember. (It helps that I visit there regularly!)
