Stone Guard Opinions
I have been noticing some chipping on the rear fenders so I thought I would put on some stone guards. Since I had some extra silver-gray magnetic sheets I thought I would cut some out and see what they look like. I like the idea of the magnetic sheets as I can remove them anytime I want for the clean white look. Give me some feedback on whether this color works or should I definitely go black.

They don't look too bad. I would keep them on for a while and see how I feel after a few months.

Looks off to me as nothing else silver on car. I’d go black or clear.

I agree, Black looks sharp and crisp. The silver looks out of place in my opinion.

I'm going to break with the group and say that I like the gray. The wheels and tires blend as one object in black. The shape of the car overall in while. The gray creates an interesting contrast against the white an black.

Same here, you did a good cutting job tho 😎
On a 911, I like the black fender guards. I debated that myself lately and put black film on my clear one, just in case I didn't like it. I must say that it was a great success and I'll be keeping it black.
It brings the 997 to the level of the 911 of my youth. And since the 997 is imho the best reiteration of that model, it dresses the rear fender like it belongs there.

I like the gray guards. They're very unusual and (to my eye) break up the stark contrast between the white body & the black wheels/tires. I think it's a cool look and would keep them on for a couple of months, to decide.

Unpopular opinion but I don't like the silver nor black stone guards. Just clear or body color. It's okay on air-cooleds because it's a period thing but on the smoother 997 it's jarring and messy and breaks up the shape too much.

The silver/grey looks out of place => nothing else on your car is silver/grey from the sides. Even if you had silver wheels, it may or may not look good.
Black stone guards on a white car is classic 911 styling
I've a white 997 too and it was a tough choice for me between black and clear => ultimately I went with clear stone guards.

Ive got a white 997 as well and I have the matte black magnetic ones. Around town I leave them off, on trips I put them on. Im back and forth on them. I think if I didnt have a CF frunk and a CF spoiler out back, the contrast would be OK but Im just not wow'd or turned off by them so having magnetic to pull them off when you want is good.
