went from 996.2 MT base DD to 997.2 MT base DD (due to IMS failure)
Only regret is I didn't get an S due to dual setting PASM (ability to soften/harden suspension over base suspension).
997.2 much better in terms of cabin experience.

This is great intel, thanks all! I love my 996.2, except for the interior... so thinking 997, and will look at both the 1 and 2 to make the call. If it's my ONLY ride, i do want it to be a little "nicer"...
Again, thanks so much for the thoughts, very helpful!

One and only car, weekend driver, something nice and more comfortable? Those are your words and I think you already make up your mind on 997.2 S
good luck finding the right car.

I went from a 01 996 C2 6 spd to a 09 C2S 6 spd. Like everyone else said the 997.2 is much faster and has a nicer interior with updated technology. This is good and bad as the 996 can me more easily changed. I had M030 suspension on the 996 so both cars seemed to handle comparably. I would recommend a 996 to anyone as long as you make a few modifications. Going to the 997.2 was a bit by chance for me but I do love it.
