Foxwell NT520 Pro vs NT530

Anyone know if these tools are able to re-assign Key # (i.e. Key #1 or Key #2, not actually programming the transponder)? I did a DIY key shell swap, but was unable to get the transponder out of the "good" key, so my key remote is for Key #2. Then when I put the key in the ignition, it reads the transponder as Key #1. This leads to some funky behavior with the seat memory settings since it starts moving things around when I remote unlock the car (based on Key #2), then changes things once it realizes that it's actually Key #1 inserted. This making any sense?

Will the foxwell or icarsoft allow disabling the seatbelt chime?

I have read on one of the threads here that the Foxwell will allow disabling of the seatbelt chime.

Please be good enough to let us know if it came "Porsche ready", or if you need to download Porsche specific app onto the device. Some people have been saying they receive the device setup for a BMW and they then have to load the Porsche specific app onto it (for an additional charge). There is a vendor on Amazon that will pre-load the device with the Porsche specific app for an extra $10,

Also if you want a comparison of the 520/530, 630 and 680 can do scroll about halfway down on this page:https://www.foxwelltool.com/wholesal...0-updated.html
hope this help.

I had bought my nt530 from the foxwelltool website. The tool allows you to read codes for all makes and models but programming wise you have to pick one model to download the software for(or buy additional models). Updating the firmware on the scanner and adding the tool can be done by following the directions here:https://www.foxwelltech.us/ and make sure you register to be able to use. Here is a pdf guide and i followed these steps to get mine setup https://usa-guigu-public.oss-acceler...ual_Update.pdf

thanks for this info. I've only gone "uphill" at hawks nest, certain going downhill would be much more exciting.

...and it came preloaded with Porsche s/w. Nevertheless, I registered and updated all modules (incl Porsche) before plugging it in to my 991.1 C2S. I first reset the oil minder which went smoothly. The Foxwell requires that the current date be entered before the reset can be completed. Hopefully, the oil minder will reappear one yr from now since I change oil based on time not mileage.
I also checked all the fault codes. There were quite a few, but I had no CEL so presumably none are serious. On further inspection, they seemed to be mostly, of the transient "parameter exceeds threshold" variety, so I'll probably just delete all of the codes after checking with an indy friend.
Overall, a worthwhile tool, especially if you have several cars that it'll work with. I have a 2019 Audi and Jag ($60 a piece to add these), and this tool will also (in theory) read basic OBD1 codes on my 30 yo NSX.

On another thread someone is using the iOS/Android app-based Autel AP200 to reset service/oil warning and other things. It may be a better alternative.

Bought directly from them in case I ever needed support, thought it might make it easier.
