Most call them door finishers and it is plastic pin-welded to the door panel on the back side. Looks like yours is starting to lose some of the clear coat.. Has yours ever been refinished before?

They can be bought individually and the door panel comes off and the plastic pins that hold that part to the door have to be drilled out. Not too bad of an R&R really.

That’s what happens if you get sunscreen on your hand and then touch plastic/rubber coated parts. The chemicals in certain types of sunscreen bubble up the plastic like that. It eats away at it. Keep your fingers clean of the sunscreen and it won’t happen again.

It's called a door spear. The soft touch coating is lifting.

You need to remove the door panel to access the backside plastic welds to melt the rivets using a soldering iron to replace it. For the replacement, yiu can either met the rivets again or clip them off at an appropriate length and use screws. The latter is my preference as it let's tou adjust the tension of the fit at the different mounting points.

I actually need one as well. Mine is just funky looking. Possibly sun damaged. Pass is like new.
Jaskfri, do you still have the part number? Thanks.

Same thing happened to mine. It’s on my list but the repair seems almost more hassle than it’s worth. If I ever know I have to disassemble the panel then I’ll order up the parts and make it happen
