Question 997 with Michelin Pilot Sport 4 S

Hi all!
Looking for feedback for 997s mounting Pilot Sport 4S shoes around here.

These tires do not have N Porsche OEM option. Only Pilot Sport 2 They do not have 87 load, only 91. I am about to order a new pair for the front. 235/35R19 91Y.

There is why I am looking for 997 owners with PS4S. I still have the OEM Pilot Sport at the front, but 15 years old is a lot.

Thanks!

Default 997 Michelin’s

I have a 3,000 mile 2011 Turbo S and I replaced the original tires with the Michelin 4S
Great tire , grip and ride . The Porsche Dealer
recommended over the Pilot 2
very satisfied!

A simple google search will yield you 100s of results and opinions on this tire. Vast majority of people love them. Most don't care about the N rating as it doesn't seem to be anything more than a marketing difference.

I run them. I love them for the street.

Do you have 15-year-old tires in your car??
Go replace tires quickly
As for the PS4S it's a great tire. highly recommend.

Yes I have. I bought the car recently. I suppose those are the original from new.
Very dangerous, brake distance is increased a lot.

Comparing load ratings, N Rated tyre is rated 100 or 101, depending on brand and size, while XL Rated PS4S are all 104 rated, so for heavier load. Thus, considering N rating is kind of tied to the load factor (for 60% weight on rears it is important), I personally would be OK putting on PS4S. They are better than PS2s, they are one of the best tyres ever out there period.

Just make sure you get XL load rating on your PS4S as some I saw can be 91 or 95, but you want the 101+, i.e. 104 in this case (based on my EU search on this tyre).

Unless you're looking to uber certify your Porsche with an N-spec tire, go for the PS4S, they're incredible...comfortable ride, handling in dry/wet, quiet and great mileage !

Default 09 c4S with Pilot sport 4 s

Love the tires -I have 3,000 miles on them under all conditions with great reviews. My Dealer installed them as part of my "Certified Porsche Warranty"
Go for it

Good luck

That´s exactly I am expecting from it. Some reviews are avaliable online, youtube, magazines, but any with 997. The current ones are glazed or something like that.
I have to switch the back ones. They are from 2008, but they don´t slip abnormally.

Why wont you replace rears? Anything older than 5 years is a question of performance vs wear, but yours DOT 2008 is pretty bad and I would totally swap them too. Why wait? They will be 500 bucks plus or minus, but nothing beats having full set of fresh tyres.

Good advice here.

All of the emphasis in the world placed on the myriad of details with the function of the car itself - all of it coming down to how it is able to interact via mother Earth through the four seemingly small contact patches of the tires.

Tires are one of the highest priorities for any car - sports cars overwhelmingly so.

I agree with you @pascalemod !
Next month I will replace the rears. I stop by the Michelin dealer today, and I checked the DOT of some tires. They have there a rear set of PS4S with almost a year. It's a lot for me, however I have no option there.
