@Liste-Renn These gorgeous left coast images deserve an immediate replay! Nice work! That is my type of work / mental health day!
Sure wish that I and the local Marin crew was out there enjoying it with you but a trip into SF tomorrow to see an almost identical GTS like yours is on my calendar and will be a blast...but I digress...
Very curious to see the location of this excursion pinned on a map...it looks very familiar!? I believe that I was there last November and it was just perfect practice conditions, like you experienced (although it looks like a short term change in weather is approaching)!
If it is where I suspect, I see an upcoming excursion in that area, maybe even in the end of year future if this balmy weather returns and as your images suggest, the summer traffic has obviously vanished...thanks for the recon and vicarious pleasure!

My roadtrip began in Thousand Oaks in SoCal.
101 to Santa Barbara, 154 to Solvang, 101/PCH to Cambria. PCH to closure north of Gorda (big slide, could take years to reopen).
Bad for locals and businesses, but with zero through traffic, it's clear sailing for enthusiasts.
Almost certain it is the same north of the slide closure, but Big Sur is a big attraction from Bay Area and worldwide tourism.
I drove an hour north from Ragged Point (left wife there after a long lunch- for her sanity, and mine) and ripped up north about 60 miles. Zero southbound traffic encountered and maybe 5 or 6 overtaken northbound.
If they don't pull over/out, I do. Take a few pics, stretch, gaze. Then, off I go.
Lots of bumping the rev limiter in 2nd gear and wheel is rarely centered.
My kind of motoring.
Light is fantastic for pics- especially at golden hour.
Some deserted twisties between Cambria and Paso Robles, as well.
911 nirvana this time of year. No marine layer or RV traffic. The PCH closure is a cherry on top.

Hope you guys don't mind non-997 drives
Just picked up this 1968 Mercedes 200D. Had one when I was 17 yrs old growing up in NY. Car was a rust bucket but diesel engine was great
This one lived in California and great condition. They drive like a fvcking tank. So nice to get back in the 997 - Like 2 extremely distant worlds.
Just got it home!

This weekend drove from the SF Bay Area to Portland & back, made some photo stops at Myrtle Creek, Roseburg & Ashland OR. Gotta say, Grant Larson nailed it with this one:

Looks like a wonderful roadtrip from / to places that are close to my motoring heart and what I believe are some of the best driving roads in the world where miles of stupid smiles are possible / probable, the scenic beauty is as gorgeous as anywhere and to a small degree, it feels like a step back in time.
Please share the roads / route that you travelled. I hope that you made it out to the eastern side of the Cascades & Sierra because that is pure practice heaven!

As far as enjoying one's passions while still possible?
And how!
I am dude who may never get back what I had 8 weeks ago- but grab the gusto whenever you can.
Here is a place you will never forget-if a perfect cut of beef and complimentary Cab appeals to ya:
Stay thirsty (and hungry) amigos.
Happy motoring.

If you need a mental health day, there are a number of like-minded peeps in the North Bay always looking for an excuse to put that stupid smile on our faces...
