Does anyone know of a fuel retailer in the Palm Springs area that sells clear gas?

You may have a hard time finding gas without ethanol in the CV. CARB requires the greater LA area and Imperial Valley to maintain higher oxygenation standards between November and February so the CV probably falls within this region. Ethanol isn’t a required additive for oxygenation but it is cheap and effective. Further, since CA refines all of its own gasoline, it is cheaper for Big Oil to use one standard for the state instead of refining piecemeal. In searching for ethanol free gasoline, perhaps the best place to start, actually, is with refiners. If all the gas sold in CA must be refined in CA, and no refiners distribute ethanol free gas, then anything out there may be of questionable legality and/or composition. Alternatively, if you really, really want ethanol free gasoline, find out which, if any, refiners distribute it and track it down that way. Yeah, I know, it doesn’t make a whole lot of sense, but neither does California.

Pure Gas is great but you always have to check and verify as sometimes it's not correct -- or it was correct in the past but then the station changed gas, as my father found out in at least one case. He's the type of person that will start talking to the guy driving the gas tanker to find out what's in the tank. Anyway...
Where I live in the city you can't buy ethanol gas but you can if you start going outside of the city. However the places that have it are all unbranded type of gas stations that I have no idea what kind of fuel additives they have used so I think you have more to lose from that. So instead I just stick to top tier 93 octane because finding Top Tier ethanol free has been impossible to find.

Ethanol has a shelf life and if your tank sits too long in an inactive vehicle, it could stale or separate. That's what I am hoping to avoid in CV area.
I am very grateful for the responses, folks!

haha....I am ignorant of this area for the most part. So I had to google Chuckwalla. Started reading about plump lizards and thinking I was getting punked. haha. Anyway, I will call them today. Website says for track use only, but we shall see! thanks!!!

IMHO it is not worth the trouble chasing ethanol free gas. If widely available sure, but not in the current state of affairs. Add 4oz of StaBil 360 (ethanol protection) with every fill up and you are set.
