I guess they don't teach logical fallacies (i.e. false equivalence) in school any more which is a shame. On the bright side those of us that know them can spot them a mile away.

I was not trying to offend anyone that like PDK. I just wanted to present my side of the argument. I know there is a reason why manual is dying and it makes me sad.

To me manual vs dual clutch is like, taking photos with a analog camera vs digital camera. Yes everyone can take a almost perfect photo with a digital camera with just a press of a button. They don't need years of experience in photography to achieve it. On the other hand taking photos with a analog camera is way more difficult to get a good result. But it's the process of trying to get to that point is what makes it appealing to some people.

Yeah, I hear you as it makes me sad too. I love the PDK but I completely understand the allure of shifting and being in full control of the vehicle. That being said, new automobile technology is taking us to performance levels that were unimaginable a few decades ago, so there's definitely some perks that come with progress.

That’s right, electrification is taking us to unimaginable performance levels, because that’s where we’re headed. My DD ICE cars are so soulless that I’ll prefer BEVs when I make the switch, but I’ll keep my slow manual 997.

If you want to offend PDK lovers feel free to use this photo which I usually post at some point during the many angry Manual Transmission Vs. PDK debates

No PDK/manual thread would be complete without your picture Groov!

Always loved the photo
I have no idea if guy in photos is an RL member?
Also never noticed the frown-look on the stuffed Gorilla in background. Gorilla must own PDK

Nick Murray is a RL member. He use to do a lot of 991 content but has the worst luck with 991s that Porsche bought his last one back because of a litany of issues that the dealer was unable to resolve. They have bought back his previous car as well, or he dumped it because of ongoing issues. He has a Macan and 993 cab now.

Except that the print on the t-shirt isn't completely accurate. As I've said a number of times, I don't use the paddles but shift the PDK in manual mode using the gear lever so my right hand is always on the lever as if I was driving a manual. Maybe change the language on the t-shirt to "frees up your left leg" whatever you can scratch with that

Nick Murray's videos are entertaining. He keeps them nice a short and usually has interesting content.

LMAO, great stuff! Although its flawed, everyone knows the manual driver has know idea what the other hand is doing because all they can see is the *** end of the pdk car.

For me:
Daily driver or track use: PDK
Weekend use, cruising: Manual

I had a DSG Audi S4. Was my daily driver. Had a BMW 335xi manual prior. Due to some health issues, I thought I'd be fine with PDK, specifically after having some seat time in my friends 997.2 Turbo PDK. After about a month of living with the PDK, it was too easy. I knew I needed a manual back. Sold that car for other reasons a year later. Bought 997.1 GT3 manual. Happy with my choice. All that matters is that you're happy with yours. Happy to go more in depth if you have questions.
