Will I regret Bilstein B16 shocks for my daily C4S?
Two of my stock shocks are showing some seepage. I do like the stock ride settings and do use the PASM sport settings when out in the Oregon back country. I've purchased the B16s but now I have to say I'm a bit anxious the ride will be race car stiff. Can anyone calm my anxiety?

Dave - If no one else responds, which I doubt will be the case, I will have feedback for you after this weekend. I will be picking up my 2010 C4S on Friday after a suspension refresh that includes B16 install due to rear struts failing. Mine is a weekend only vehicle so if it's it a bit firm I'm not to worried about it. I will also be testing and running a DSC to see how it differs with the factory unit. I will follow up and be curious to see what others say.

You will be fine. I have B16 and I live in metro Detroit. It is stiffer but not by huge margin. B16 is a very good street coil over that you can take it to track.
If it ends up too stiff, you can add DSC and custom program it yourself

Dave,
Here is my experience. I had a stock 2006 C2S with PASM and 58k miles. A back shock failed so suspension update was required. I installed the B-16s, lowered and corner balanced the car. Originally it drove with excellent precision and stability. After the upgrade it was twitchy and lacked directional stability. I hated it. The car was no longer fun to drive. I sold the car and now own a stock 2008 C4S which drives beautifully. I will stay with factory when I update the suspension on this 997.

Lowering 15mm beyond the stock "s" numbers will look great, but may cause some heartache depending on your streets. Stock height b16 should ride fantastically, especially with a dsc controller as mentioned by ParkerCO997.2. They may be a little stiffer, but likely worlds better than blown or leaking dampers. A performance alignment will be a must, and can tune out any "twitchiness" that may be encountered.

Regret them, no...you'll wish you switched to them the day you got the car.

I'm really thinking more and more that I need to go this route. Been holding off on mods until my first DE which is in April now. Bought the car with stock PASM + H&R springs which are pretty firm and pretty low. If the B16s can give me better overall performance I'd be pretty stoked.

Great comments. I understand what you're talking about. I recently upgraded the suspension on my BMW GS motorcycle after a blown front shock. Although I choked on the price of Tractive replacements, they were as you described. Much better feel and much quicker "settling" when riding aggressively. for the 997 I was primarily concerned about "harshness" for a daily ride. I'm over 50 now, I don't want to have to wear a kidney belt in my daily. ;-) In addition, I don't want to hear my wife whine.

I'm on my 2nd set. Bought the car with B16s in place, had an issue with one and replaced the set awhile ago. They are fantastic. I DD my car in NYC and NJ and though they are reasonably stiff I've never thought they were tremendously harsh. I have yet to do the DSC mod.
