PPI Near King of Prussia, Pa
Hello. I'm a new-old Rennlister. I drove a 964 daily for 10 yrs and still miss it. I spent a good deal of time on this site and thank you all for your help, support, and camaraderie. It's been 7 yrs and I really didn't think there'd be another 911 in my life, but a 997 has caught my eye, and it turns out I can afford it.
So, I'm looking for a PPI near King of Prussia, Pa.
I'm heading to look at the car later today and realized a bit late that I really ought to be reaching out here to see if I could get a recommendation on a PPI location.
Thank you,
Dave

Is Kevin at The Porsche Specialist in Broomall too far? He did a great PPI on my Boxster and I believe he does a lot of air-cooled as well. Edit: I see it is a 997 :-)

Thanks guys. Just back. Long day. What a car. 10yrs behind the wheel of a 964 did not prepare me for that!
Found a laundry list of issues. Mostly minor - driver's door handle, radio **** missing, navigation functions not working, seat belt buckle had been closed in driver's door a few times (scratches, dents), trim loose in front of driver's rear wheel, driver's rear brake light was out before the test drive, and working after, the clutch peddle had a funny click upon starting to depress it, etc.
More importantly, when I hit the "shock strut looking button" a PASM Failure notification came up on the dash. Some time after the test drive I restarted the car to show the owner and it was cleared. Intermittent electronic issues may be enough to make me pass. Unless, of course, it is somehow understood and expected - I hit the button after starting the car, but not going anywhere; wasn't quite sure what it did; hit it more than once; then noticed the display as I was heading out for a test drive. Anyone seen that before?
Looked at a second car, as well. No test drive, but some similar minor issues - driver's door latch, trims, etc. Owner said the rear shocks need replacing. Is that typical at 52k miles? The engine sounded off to me, as well. Very rough coming off idle. Seems like this one has been driven hard, and not well maintained. It's a pass.
The first one is a maybe. Not sure if I'll spring for a PPI, but either way I very much appreciate the input on the PPI locations.
One thing's for sure, I'm hooked.

Hard pass on the cars you mentioned with all of those things wrong. If the prior owners couldn't take care of those obvious things, I shudder to think of the big things they didn't maintain. Always get a PPI and good luck with your search! Out of curiosity, which dealer in the KOP area had those beat up cars?
For PPI, these are both great Porsche independents near KOP.
Performance Automotive Service in Malvern, PA (pfmauto.com)
Premier Eurocars – Porsche, Audi, BMW, Volvo, Land Rover & Mercedes Benz Repair Philadelphia – European Auto Repairs & Specialists

Yes, always a PPI. The question was whether I'd bother, or just pass. I'll pass.
The KoP one is listed on car gurus; c4s coupe, silver. The second is in NJ which we found on the drive home and stopped in to see; shady all around.
Thanks guys (and gals). I'll post as things progress.
Cheers,
Dave

An amendment to my previously way wrong post haha....
When you have another candidate for a PPI, look no further than Glenn's European Automotive Repair in Pottstown. He's taken Jake Raby's hands-on classes and is a master of the M9x engines. He'll let you know every possible thing that's wrong with the car and advise you on the best path moving forward. Honesty and integrity personified.
