997.1 Cab seatbelt removal
Though I've done extensive research on this (coupe info is abundant), I still have questions on the 997.1 CAB seatbelt removal and was wondering if anyone had any insight for me. I am trying to remove front/rear belts and I'm stuck on the side trim piece. I removed every screw, trim and speaker pieces but for the life of me I cannot get the large side trim off. there’s not a ton of info that I can find but what I did see is that it just needs to be pulled inwards but something is seriously impeding that unless I'm being too cautious. I do have experience removing auto trim pieces so I feel like I know when to stop and look for another fastener or screw. Any help is appreciated.

Also - if you plan to remove the rear seatbelts, this screw plagued me for a bit before I happened across this thread by accident - check post #2

To remove the rear seatbelt assembly (once the screws are removed), you will need to move the rollover protection bars out of the way - maybe 2-3 inches. To move them enough to be able to get the seatbelt assembly out, you have remove the top plate, removing the covers isn't enough. Hope this helps!

thanks.
Yes, that thread helped by showing
how to remove the top roll over plate.
after popping out the oval roll caps i got to the single screw on each side. i didn't need to remove the middle screw in the back and take off the top plate.
This gave me enough clearance to be able to remove the belt clip.
Then I put the tot into the service position to remove the belt reel towards the top motor(outward) with a little effort.

I had a horrible time reinstalling my rear seat belts in my cab. The PO tracked the car and removed them. I eventually figured it out. One thing I wanted to add was that I initially thought my seat belts were defective, as they wouldn't unroll. They would lock up when I barely and gently pulled them. Turns out they will only unroll when the mechanisms is held in the exact position that they would be installed in. If you tilt them or turn them around they lock up. Probably a factory designed roll-over protection. Just adding in case it's useful to someone in the future.

If you already have a diagnostic tool, you can turn off that air bag light really quick.
