997 Turbo Decklid - Fan doesn’t clear Fabspeed Intake
2006 997.1 Carrera 4 3.6 owner here. Recently added a turbo decklid and some people recommended the Fabspeed intake. I also did the GT3 TB and IPD plenum. The decklid fan doesn’t clear the Fabspeed intake. Looks like it’s not even close, need 3” at least to close.

I think they may have been referring to the older J-pipe Fabspeed intake like I have on my car, but when doing the turbo decklid conversion on my wife's c2s, it didn't look like it was going to work great there either without being clocked to a weird angle. The EVOMS intake works perfectly with the TT decklid and what we used.

Thank you. I’m considering other intake setups, the evoms looks nice!
I was able to get it almost there, I can close the decklid and but the fan is still touching the intake and rubbing when it turns on.
I loosened the plenum and was able to reposition it to get more clearance.
Also considering moving the fan over just slightly.

For those following along, I just missed a smoking deal on an EVOMS intake, so instead I found a company that sells a slim fan for the Turbo decklid. Ordered one of those, will report back once it arrives.

Okay finally solved the issue. The slim fan from Magnus Motorsports fits just right. For anyone who doesn’t want to pay $300 for the kit, you can order the same SPAL fan 30100393 online and make your own. Just need a connector as well. Clears easily and looks OEM too. I tested it and it seems a bit louder than the OEM fan but I tested it with the engine off so that could be why it sounded so loud.

Yes, the magnus kit come with a nice cnc adapter bracket. But you could very easily make adapters with some aluminum flat stock and save $200. The bolt holes are not that far off. I believe the SPAL fan comes with the connector (both sides male & female).

Took your advice and I mocked up a bracket, plan to cut it this weekend. Also looks like the PA66 female connector will connect to the factor harness, ordered a connector from Amazon, hope to have this together soon.

Nice job!
Now you need to add some coolant and replace your reservoir cap that's leaking.
