Are we still considering this nonsense and helping class action ambulance chaser lawyers?!?

edit: It wasn’t actually a documentary, it was a segment of “Dirty Money” on Netflix.

Is there any downside to participating in the Settlement?
My base 2009 MT Carrera does have the 640 - Sport Chrono Package Plus option, but I don't believe that is the Sport+ option that gets the owner an additional $250.
If you don't have the Sport+, are there any adjustments to the car's firmware or anything that would affect performance or mileage?
thanks

And yes I hope those who receive the settlement must also get an ECU reflash to correct the discrepancies and abide by the terms of the lawsuit, i.e., correct the stated gas mileage.

I agree that class action suits are basically to enrich lawyers and I "always" throw away the offers. This one I signed up for because I watched a documentary about how VW handled the original claim and it was very slimy, maybe even slimier than the class action lawyers. Because of that I jumped on board. Don't expect to get much, but I don't mind VW/Porsche having to pay.

I find it interesting that my displayed mileage reads 2.5 mpg higher that the actual measured (GPS miles drive/tank divided by gallons used).
If there is a ECU reflash that will correct this, I'm all for it. And FWIW, my 996.2 read 0.48 mpg high.

I signed up. I noted before that if Porsche lied, then they should pay. Using the legal system in this way is how our world works now and therefore so be it. Sure, I did not buy the car because of its MPG, but I also didn't buy it because of how it performed in a crash test... nor emissions results, or .... whatever. But again, when any company makes false claims, they pay up. I could care less about the amount I get per se.
If there is a software fix, I suspect it will not affect performance. My friends VW diesel Touareg actually gained performance... according to his perceptions. Performance, say 0-60, is a claim like all others and must be preserved. BTW, Like cringely above, the trip computer on my car has always read incorrect MPG. See below.
BTW, I have not received any email or other correspondence from the website.

Sure... it could be part of calculated deception. Can anyone read the door sticker and tell us what a 2009 manual transmission's stated MPG was?
Given differences in driving styles etc... I can't claim that my driving style "deserves" the MPG claim... but when people ask me what my mileage is, well I can press a button and show them... incorrectly. Hmmmm....

I hear several are receiving checks recently.. They'll keep coming on a role out through August.
