Default Tubi with cats.

Anyone have sound clips of 997.1 ( preferably) of a tubi set up with high flow cats. I keep coming across the same ones and it’s either a turbo set up or they don’t say if they have cats or not let alone the tubi headers.

thanks.

Don’t do it. I don’t have any clips but I had Tubis then added Soul mid-pipes w/cats. It sounded horrible and was loud as hell. The car did feel like it picked up some power mid-range though so I sold the Tubis. Now I’m running the Soul mid-pipes and their sport mufflers and am very happy with this combo.

The Tubis with stock cats had good sound but no volume. Not sure what the answer is but in my case the aftermarket cats killed the sound and cranked up the volume too high.

Agree totally about the "don't do it". Subjective but I kind of disagree with the no volume part though. Had the Tubi mufflers on my -06 C4S. What I found nice about them was that they almost worked like PSE without the quiet/loud button. Pretty much stock quiet below 3,000-3,500 rpm but a completely different song and dance once you get past that rpm range. A comment from a neighbor down the street who owns two Ferraris: "Your car sounds incredible. What exhaust do you have on it. I've owned Porsches and I know for sure it's not stock". Speaks volumes.

And I've heard of others who messed around with cats thinking the Tubi side cans weren't loud enough. The comments I read were all in agreement that adding after market cats to the Tubi mufflers ruins the sound of them and just adds obnoxious low quality volume. Bring the Tubis to 4,000 rpm or above and I don't see how that's not loud enough for most. But again....highly subjective.

Agreed. I'm running Tubi's but it's too quiet. Would love to raise the volume 2xs but how without losing the Tubi sound?

FWIW, i have tubi's mated to fabspeed DP w/ HFC, their x-pipe, and their equal length headers...sounds amazing...but it's also 4.0L motor built by Jake...

Maybe the tubi's don't sound good with HFC if you don't have equal length headers or an xpipe, or both?

I'm gonna go ahead and add my name to the last of "I want more volume from Tubis". Mine comes with a caveat though, I think they're plenty loud when the RPMs get high, but I want more at lower RPMs and especially at start up.

I started off adding Tubi mufflers to an otherwise stock car, loved the tone.

I added soul headers and cats, and with the Tubi mufflers the volume was unbearable. It was hard to discern from running with no mufflers.

I put the oem cans back on, has a nice tone and a great cold start, but could be louder.

I appreciate the replies. Anyone run the headers and exhaust with the stock cats ?

I have the tubi exhaust manifolds and tubi mufflers and stock cats. I would have a hard time wanting anything more. No drone, aggressive at RPM's, and great quality.
