Mine has shockingly held up wells it’s has some scuffs and will probably need to be replaced this spring. I have 2 cup lips that are black that I have waiting to install but I kind of like the attic silver aero lip.
definitely have to take bumps and dips at an angle. There isn’t anything you can add to it either since it’s just a thin piece of plastic.
And as other have said Porsche designed them as disposable parts

I’m about to have the aero bumper put on mine. Have standard ride hight with PASM but am planning on not finishing the lip (car is black). Still concerned about it being scraped up shortly after install.

I had the same problem when I first got my car, so decided to use the Cup car splitter from my local Porsche parts dealer. Cost is 1/3 the price of original and leave it unpainted. Also trimmed 15mm with a Dremel ( mine isn’t lowered)

Oh my , that hurts. Feel bad for you. Bummer way to start the new year. Suppose if it is mostly cosmetic some sanding a little filler and quick respray with a flat or mat black will do the trick. Happy news though cheers

Smadill and Kuhl997.2! this is some good info thank you. I’ll look up that part.
a quick update if I back my car into the garage it does not scrape. The body shop gave me the unused paint. It looks like a 4 yr old did it when I touched it up.

The only reason why I ask is because some people don't know how to drive a really lowered car. Not just a lowered car but one that has aftermarket suspension and chin spoilers. It actually becomes an art.
One and last time I let my friend drive my Supra and he let me drive his 996 he almost destroyed my Supra spoiler. When he came to my driveway to park it, he attempted to drive in straight until I immediately got out of his car and stopped him. I almost had a heart attack and told him to park it by the sidewalk.

This is the best question asked. I seriously do not know how it scraped in the middle. I will definitely have to re think every place that I drive. I guess no more speed bumps anymore. I’ve had the car 9 yrs. I should have bought the Aero at least 7 yrs ago. I love the way it looks now.

My 991 lip with the EMC2 fitment kit is holding up well.
It has scraped more times than I can count and the scuffs are pretty much unnoticeable unless you’re inspecting it for damage.
Will probably swap out for a new 991 lip every 3-4 years.
