Default Moromoto's new 997 headlights. Anyone?

So I recently bought these. Plug and play. No leveling motor to swap over. Everything works perfectly. I'm very happy with the DRL's and they dim when headlamps are on. LED high/low headlamps are very bright. I will try and get evening time pics this weekend.

I just installed them. They are significantly brighter than the HID lights.
All my other cars have LED headlights and while HID lights used to be the "bees knees", they simply are no longer state of the art.
It looks to me that Morimoto got a hold of OEM housings, including the self-leveling mechanism (!) and they just replaced the carrier that held the HID with their LEDs
This is not some cheap Chinese knock off, this is a quality product
And yes, I'm embarrassed to admit that the 4 LED are kind-a cool :-)

Yep if you search for Morimoto in this forum you'll find a few threads on them. They look solid!

Very cool. I wonder on the 997.2's if they just tap into the existing DRL or not. Just curious. Nice option for sure.

It has a single + wire for the DRL's. Ground for DRL is internal. I was already running a 12 volt wire from my ignition side of my fuse block so I just used that.

Curious to see how these look in the real world and not in their ads. Following this thread for your pics!

What’s wrong with the original xenon’s that come with the car? I think they work quite well. Is it that people like the 4 little LEDs? 😁

I think its no different than putting Dectane rear tails on a 997.1 like the 997.2. A little modernizing never hurt anyone.

Funny you mentioned OEM housings. They are identical. I thought it was just me.

Yes we're a Morimoto dealer, good amount of positive feedback on these for people that wanted to replace their yellow'd headlights or damaged ones.

One thing I absolutely hate about automotive LED headlights is how cool the color of the lights are. I much prefer my lights in the 4000k range.

Do we know if Morimoto offer a 4000k option for these upgraded lights?

I installed these headlights the week between Christmas and New Year, the install was simple, but I having a couple of issues. After the car is turned off for a period of time, the DRLs will intermittently turn on (~12sec) and off (~40sec). I’ve tried reprogramming the DRL module several times, including removing from the car with the fuse out, but it has not corrected the issue. The other issue is that one of the passenger DRL bulbs will flicker when the headlamps are on. I did email Morimoto about this situation immediately after the install, but they have not responded. I have to pull the fuse on the DRL module when not using the car. These are pricy and I hope Morimoto will take the time out to help resolve this issue.

Quick Reply: Moromoto's new 997 headlights. Anyone?
